Pharmaceutical composition containing decoy and method of using the same
Abstract
A pharmaceutical composition for performing treatment against a skin disease, the pharmaceutical composition comprising at least one decoy and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The at least one decoy may be selected from the group consisting of an NF-κB decoy, a STAT-1 decoy, a GATA-3 decoy, a STAT-6 decoy, an AP-1 decoy and an Ets decoy. The at least one decoy may be an oligonucleotide including at least two decoys bonded to each other, the at least two decoys being selected from the group consisting of an NF-κB decoy, a STAT-1 decoy, a GATA-3 decoy, a STAT-6 decoy, an AP-1 decoy and an Ets decoy. The skin disease may be atopic dermatitis, psoriasis vulgaris, contact dermatitis, keloid, bedsore, ulcerative colitis, or Crohn's disease.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 6 . (canceled)
7 . A method for treating atopic dermatitis comprising topically administering a composition comprising (i) an amount of a linear, double-stranded DNA NF-κB decoy effective to treat atopic dermatitis, wherein the decoy competes with the same chromosomal NF-κβ binding site as SEQ ID NO:1, and (ii) a pharmaceutically acceptable topical carrier.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein one strand of the double-stranded DNA NF-κB decoy comprises the sequence of SEQ ID NO:1.
9 . The method of claim 7 , wherein one strand of the double-stranded DNA NF-κB decoy consists of the sequence of SEQ ID NO:1.
10 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the carrier comprises one or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of fats, fatty oils, lanolin, petrolatum, paraffin, wax, plaster, resin, plastic, glycols, alcohols, and glycerin.
11 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the carrier comprises 5% stearyl alcohol.
12 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the carrier is selected from the group consisting of petrolatum, petrolatum containing 5% stearyl alcohol, and petrolatum containing liquid paraffin.
13 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the composition is selected from the group consisting of oil-and-fat ointments, emulsion-type ointments, and water-soluble ointments.
14 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the composition is formulated as an oil-and-fat ointment.
15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the ointment consists of:
(i) an amount of a linear, double-stranded DNA NF-κB decoy effective to treat atopic dermatitis, wherein the decoy competes with the same chromosomal NF-κβ binding site as SEQ ID NO: 1, and (ii) a pharmaceutically acceptable topical carrier consisting of 5% stearyl alcohol and petrolatum.Cited by (0)
