Abstract
The present invention is directed to methods and compositions for treating and ameliorating AAMI, hippocampal dysfunction, memory disorders, and brain damage, comprising a composition comprising uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . Use of uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for treating or reducing an incidence of Age-Associated Memory Impairment (AAMI) in a subject.
. Use of (a) uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate; and (b) choline or an ester or salt thereof in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for treating or reducing an incidence of Age-Associated Memory Impairment (AAMI) in a subject.
. Use of uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for treating or reducing an incidence of a post-traumatic stress disorder in a subject.
. Use of (a) uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate; and (b) choline or an ester or salt thereof in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for treating or reducing an incidence of a post-traumatic stress disorder in a subject.
. Use of uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for treating or reducing an incidence of a stress-induced memory disorder in a subject.
. Use of (a) uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate; and (b) choline or an ester or salt thereof in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for treating or reducing an incidence of a stress-induced memory disorder in a subject.
. Use of uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for treating or reducing an incidence of a depression-induced memory disorder in a subject.
. Use of (a) uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate; and (b) choline or an ester or salt thereof in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for treating or reducing an incidence of a depression-induced memory disorder in a subject.
. Use of uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for improving hippocampal-dependent memory in a subject with an autism-spectrum disorder.
. Use of (a) uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate; and (b) choline or an ester or salt thereof in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for improving hippocampal-dependent memory in a subject with an autism-spectrum disorder.
. Use of uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for improving hippocampal-dependent memory in a subject with a brain disorder associated with a genetic or chromosomal abnormality.
. Use of (a) uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate; and (b) choline or an ester or salt thereof in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for improving hippocampal-dependent memory in a subject with a brain disorder associated with a genetic or chromosomal abnormality.
. The use of any of claims 11 - 12 , wherein said chromosomal abnormality is a Down's syndrome.
. Use of uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for ameliorating hippocampal-dependent memory loss in a subject, wherein said hippocampal-dependent memory loss is secondary to meningitis.
. Use of (a) uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate; and (b) choline or an ester or salt thereof in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for ameliorating hippocampal-dependent memory loss in a subject, wherein said hippocampal-dependent memory loss is secondary to meningitis.
. The use of any of claims 14 - 15 , wherein said meningitis is secondary to an infectious agent.
. Use of uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for improving hippocampal-dependent memory in a subject with a brain disorder associated with Lyme Disease.
. Use of (a) uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate; and (b) choline or an ester or salt thereof in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for improving hippocampal-dependent memory in a subject with a brain disorder associated with Lyme Disease.
. Use of uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for treating or reducing an incidence of brain damage in a subject.
. Use of (a) uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, or a uridine phosphate; and (b) choline or an ester or salt thereof in the manufacture of a medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition for treating or reducing an incidence of brain damage in a subject.
. The use of any of claims 1 - 20 , wherein said uridine phosphate is a uridine-5′-monophosphate (UMP), uridine-5′-diphosphate (UDP), uridine-5′-triphosphate (UTP), or is a salt of said UMP, UDP, or UTP.
. The method of any of claims 1 - 21 , wherein said medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition is chronically administered.
. The method of any of claims 1 - 22 , wherein said medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition is orally administered
. The method of any of claims 2 , 4 , 6 , 8 , 10 , 12 , 15 , 18 , or 20 - 23 , wherein said choline salt is choline chloride, choline bitartrate, or choline stearate.
. The method of any of claims 1 - 24 , wherein said medicament, nutritional supplement, or composition contains 200 mg-1 g of uridine.
