Information display on facemasks

Abstract

The embodiments disclosed include a method and device for the display of information on a facemask used by the participants in sporting events. An embodiment comprises a means of applying text or graphical information to the crossbars and vertical bars of a facemask and having the user of the helmet wear the facemask in the usual manner and a means to display the information.

1 . A device to display information on facemasks comprising a means of applying text or graphical information to the components of a facemask. 
   
   
       2 . The device to display information on facemasks described in  claim 1  wherein the components of a facemask are one or more of the horizontal posts of the face mask, one or more vertical posts of the face mask, or one or more posts of orientations other than vertical or horizontal on the helmet in the vicinity of the facemask or underneath the facemask on the helmet. 
   
   
       3 . The device to display information on facemasks described in  claim 2  where the means of affixing text or graphical information to the crossbars and vertical bars of a facemask is inking, dying, freehand drawing, printing, stamping, stenciling, decaling, painting, engraving, laser engraving, or embossing. 
   
   
       4 . A device to display information on facemasks worn during participation in sporting events comprising one or more means of applying text or graphical information to one or more of the horizontal posts of the face mask, one or more vertical posts of the face mask, and one or more posts of orientations other than vertical or horizontal. 
   
   
       5 . The device to display information on facemasks described in  claim 4  where the means of affixing text or graphical information to the crossbars and vertical bars of a facemask is inking, dying, freehand drawing, printing, stamping, stenciling, decaling, painting, engraving, laser engraving, or embossing. 
   
   
       6 . A method of displaying information on facemasks worn during participation in sporting events comprising
 affixing text or graphical information to the crossbars and vertical bars of a facemask and   wearing the helmet thereby displaying the facemask to the public while participating in the sporting event.   
   
   
       7 . The method of displaying information on facemasks worn during participating in sporting events described in  claim 6  where the means of applying text or graphical information to the crossbars and vertical bars of a facemask is stenciling, decaling, painting, engraving, laser engraving. 
   
   
       8 . A device to display information on facemasks worn during participation in sporting events comprising a means of applying text or graphical information to the tab of the facemask wherein the tab of the facemask is a plate formed by the facemask or affixed to the facemask whereby the tab provides a surface upon which information can be displayed.
