Abstract
A feature coding unit extracts and encodes a feature of a video signal so as to generate a feature stream. A feature identifying unit checks a decoded feature obtained as a result of decoding the feature stream against a search key from a user for a match so that a video content requested by the user is retrieved.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method comprising:
extracting segments of image areas from a source video; coding the extracted segments; generating a feature stream corresponding to the extracted segments; decoding image features that are encoded in the feature stream; and searching image frames in the source video based on the decoded image features.
2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the feature stream and the source video are related to each other on the basis of a pointer.
3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein each of the segments define an attribute.
4 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein the attribute includes a representative color, an on-screen position, a shape, a variation in position, a variation in brightness or color, and/or contrast.
5 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein a user retrieves desired content from the source video on the basis of searching the generated feature stream.
6 . The method according to claim 5 , wherein the source video is provided in a database or a transferable medium.
7 . The method according to claim 6 , wherein the transferable medium includes a video tape.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
