Abstract
A shower base assembly comprises a base with an outlet opening ( 12 ) for drainage, and a drain plate ( 14 ) for fitting in the outlet opening. The plate ( 14 ) itself has a drain opening ( 16 ) for directing water to discharge ducting. The opening ( 16 ) is located eccentrically on the drain plate ( 14 ). The plate can be adapted to fit at the outlet opening ( 12 ) in different rotational orientations to locate the drain opening ( 16 ) at different positions relative to the outlet-opening axis.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A shower base assembly comprising a base with an outlet opening having an axis, and a drain plate for fitting at the outlet opening, the drain plate having a drain opening for directing water from the base to discharge ducting, wherein the drain opening is located eccentrically on the drain plate.
. An assembly according to claim 1 wherein the drain plate is adapted to fit at the outlet opening in different rotational orientations relative to the outlet opening axis to locate the drain opening selectively at different positions relative to the outlet opening axis.
. An assembly according to claim 1 wherein the base has an upper surface and wherein the drain plate is supported at the upper surface.
. An assembly according to claim 3 wherein the upper surface of the base and a lower surface of the drain plate define complementary circular regions which engage when the plate is fitted at the outlet opening.
. An assembly according to claim 4 wherein the plate is rotatable with the regions in engagement.
. An assembly according to claim 4 wherein the regions are selectively engageable to define a plurality of discrete rotational orientations of the plate relative to the outlet opening.
. An assembly according to claim 1 wherein the drain plate has a circular rim that engages a circular ledge on the base when fitted at the outlet opening.
. An assembly according to claim 7 wherein the ledge is bounded by an outer cylindrical wall.
. An assembly according to claim 1 wherein the base is a moulded reinforced plastics tray.
. An assembly according to claim 1 wherein the drain plate has an axis and the axis of the drain opening is spaced from the drain plate axis by at least the diameter of the discharge ducting.
. An assembly according to claim 1 wherein the drain plate has an axis and the axis of the drain opening is spaced from the drain plate axis by at least 5 cms.
. A shower base comprising a tray having a base section and a rim, wherein the rim is fitted with a level monitoring device to facilitate horizontal installation.
. A shower tray according to claim 12 wherein the level monitoring device is a spirit level vial.
. A shower tray according to claim 12 or claim 13 wherein the rim has a plurality of linear sections, with a said level monitoring device fitted in each of at least two of said sections.
. A shower tray according to claim 14 wherein the rim is square or rectangular.
. A shower base assembly comprising a tray having a base section and a rim with a plurality of linear sections; and at least two elongate elements for mounting on a base structure for the tray and supporting the tray along two linear rim sections.
. A shower tray according to claim 16 wherein the elongate elements are each of adjustable length.
. A shower tray according to claim 16 wherein each element comprises telescopically engaged components.
. A shower base assembly comprising a base with an outlet opening having an axis, and a drain plate for fitting at the outlet opening, the drain plate having a drain opening for directing water from the base to discharge ducting, wherein the drain plate is supported on an upper surface of the base, wherein the upper surface of the base and a lower surface of the drain plate define complementary circular regions which engage when the plate is fitted at the outlet opening; and wherein the drain opening is located eccentrically on the drain plate.
. An assembly according to claim 19 wherein the regions are selectively engageable to define a plurality of discrete rotational orientations of the plate relative to the outlet opening.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
