Abstract

A stock of a firearm, which can be warmed or cooled, in order to generate a comfortable temperature in designated portions. A warm or cool gunstock helps a shooter or hunter to stay outdoors longer in cold or hot circumstances and enables he or she to perform better triggering of the firearm with a reliable triggering hand. Warming or cooling is made with a separate thermal element, which can be inserted into a firearm.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A stock for a firearm comprising:
a surface to be touched by a user and, a thermal connection between said surface and a cavity defined by said stock for a thermal element.

2 . The stock for a firearm of claim 1 , wherein the stock is a stock of a rifle, a shotgun, a pistol, a revolver or a firearm for a law enforcement purpose.

3 . The stock for a firearm of claim 1 , wherein the surface to be gripped is in a pistol grip, in a forestock, in a comb or a cheek piece of a firearm.

4 . The stock for a firearm of claim 1 , which is manufactured of walnut, beech, maple, ebony, birch, composite, plastic, fibreglass, rubber, metal or a combination of at least two of them.

5 . The stock for a firearm of claim 1 , wherein elements of thermally conductive material are fitted between the cavity designated for a thermal element and any part of the stock for a firearm to be touched by a human body when pointing or shooting.

6 . The stock for a firearm of claim 1 , wherein elements of thermally insulative material are fitted in the proximity of a receiver, a barrel or a trigger assembly for affecting the conduction of thermal energy between parts of the firearm and said connection.

7 . The stock for a firearm of claim 1 , comprising a band attached by one end inside the cavity for extraction of an inserted thermal element by pulling the band by its other end, when said band is looped beneath the thermal element.

8 . The stock for a firearm of claim 1 , wherein a pistol grip, a buttplate or a forestock is equipped with means to cover the thermal element.

9 . The stock for a firearm of claim 1 , comprising multiple cavities for thermal elements.

10 . The stock for a firearm of claim 5 , wherein a selective thermal conductive valve is fitted along the thermal connection in order to connect or disconnect a path of thermal conduction.

11 . A thermal element to control the temperature of a stock in a firearm comprising:
material, which is capable of storing or generating thermal energy and said thermal element dimensioned to be fitted in the stock of a firearm without a significant mechanical clearance to conduct thermal energy between the element and parts of the stock of a firearm.

12 . The thermal element of claim 11 , wherein the thermal element has a sealing edge which forms an aesthetic joint with a stock for a firearm when inserted in a designated cavity.

13 . The thermal element of claim 11 , wherein the thermal element is rewarmable.

14 . The thermal element of claim 11 , wherein the thermal element is rechargeable.

15 . The thermal element of claim 11 , wherein the thermal element is recyclable.

16 . A method to control the temperature of a stock for a firearm, wherein the stock for a firearm comprises a cavity to receive a thermal element comprising:
storing energy or an energy generating material in the thermal element inserting the thermal element into the stock of the firearm.

17 . The method to control the temperature of a stock for a firearm of claim 16 , wherein energy is conducted from the thermal element to designated surfaces of the stock for a firearm.

18 . The method to control the temperature of a stock for a firearm of claim 16 , wherein energy of the thermal element is used to warm the stock.

19 . The method to control the temperature of a stock for a firearm of claim 16 , wherein energy of the thermal element is used to cool the stock.

20 . The method to control the temperature of a stock for a firearm of claim 16 , wherein energy of the thermal element is conducted from the thermal element to selected surfaces of the stock.

21 . The method to control the temperature of a stock for a firearm of claim 20 , wherein energy of the thermal element is conducted through a selective thermal conductive valve fitted along the thermally conductive element in order to connect or disconnect a path of thermal conduction to selected surfaces of the stock.

       22 . Arrangement for a firearm comprising:
a stock containing a cavity and a thermal element adapted to conform to the cavity in the stock.
