Abstract

A paper feeder and an image processing apparatus using the same are provided. The paper feeder includes a feeding plate, a paper guide, a paper-feeding unit and a friction provider. The feeding plate is for supporting at least one sheet of paper. The paper guide is disposed on a side of the feeding plate for aligning the sheet of paper. The paper-feeding unit is disposed at a paper-feeding end of the feeding plate for conveying the sheet of paper. The friction provider is disposed on one lateral side of the paper-feeding unit, for increasing the friction between the sheet of paper and the surface of the feeding plate, and the paper guide is disposed on the other lateral side of the paper-feeding unit.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A paper feeder, comprising:
 a feeding plate for supporting at least one sheet of paper; a paper guide disposed on a side of the feeding plate for aligning the sheet of paper; a paper-feeding unit disposed at a paper-feeding end of the feeding plate for conveying the sheet of paper placed on the feeding plate; and a friction provider disposed on one lateral side of the paper-feeding unit, for increasing the friction between the sheet of paper and the surface of the feeding plate; wherein the paper guide is disposed on the other lateral side of the paper-feeding unit.

         2 . The paper feeder according to claim 1 , wherein the friction provider is a friction pad having a high friction coefficient and disposed on the feeding plate.

         3 . The paper feeder according to claim 1 , wherein the friction provider is formed by a surface within an area of the feeding plate, which has a higher friction coefficient than that of the surface of the feeding plate outside the area.

         4 . The paper feeder according to claim 1 , wherein the paper feeder further comprises an upper cover disposed above the feeding plate, wherein the friction provider is disposed on the upper cover and projected from the upper cover towards the feeding plate to increase the friction between the sheet of paper and the surface of the feeding plate.

         5 . The paper feeder according to claim 4 , wherein the friction provider is a roller or an elastic piece.

         6 . The paper feeder according to claim 1 , wherein the paper feeder further comprises an another friction provider disposed correspondingly to the friction provider.

         7 . The paper feeder according to claim 1 , wherein the friction provider is disposed adjacent to the paper-feeding unit.

         8 . The paper feeder according to claim 1 , further comprising a separation pad disposed correspondingly to the paper-feeding unit, wherein the paper-feeding unit cooperates with the separation pad to separate the sheet of paper from an another sheet of paper stacked on the sheet of paper when conveying the sheets of paper.

         9 . The paper feeder according to claim 1 , further comprising an another paper guide, movably disposed on the feeding plate and on the same lateral side of the paper-feeding unit as the friction provider is disposed, for aligning the sheet paper.

         10 . An image processing apparatus, comprising:
 an image processing region; an image processing module positioned within the image processing region; and a paper feeder for feeding a sheet of paper to the image processing region for the image processing module to process with, wherein the paper feeder comprises:
 a feeding plate for supporting the at least one sheet of paper;
 a paper guide disposed on a side of the feeding plate for aligning the sheet of paper;
 a paper-feeding unit disposed at a paper-feeding end of the feeding plate for conveying the sheet of paper placed on the feeding plate; and
 a friction provider disposed on one lateral side of the paper-feeding unit, for increasing the friction between the sheet of paper and the surface of the feeding plate;
 wherein the paper guide is disposed on the other lateral side of the paper-feeding unit.

         11 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the friction provider is a friction pad having high friction coefficient and disposed on the feeding plate.

         12 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the friction provider is formed by the surface within an area of the feeding plate, which has a higher friction coefficient than that of the surface of the feeding plate outside the area.

         13 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the paper feeder further comprises an upper cover disposed above the feeding plate, wherein the friction provider is disposed on the upper cover and projected from the upper cover towards the feeding plate to increase the friction between the sheet of paper and the surface of the feeding plate.

         14 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein the friction provider is a roller or an elastic piece.

         15 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the paper feeder further comprises an another friction provider disposed correspondingly to the friction provider.

         16 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the paper feeder further comprises a separation pad disposed correspondingly to the paper-feeding unit, wherein the paper-feeding unit cooperates with the separation pad to separate the sheet of paper from an another sheet of paper stacked on the sheet of paper when conveying the sheets of paper.

         17 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the paper feeder further comprises an another paper guide movably disposed on the feeding plate and on the same lateral side of the paper-feeding unit as the friction provider is disposed for aligning the sheet paper.

         18 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 10 being a scanner, wherein the image processing module is a scanning module.
