Abstract

Methods of treating autoimmune diseases, allergic responses, cancer, or inflammatory diseases in an animal, promoting would healing, and promoting anglogenesis in an organ or tissue of an animal by administering to the animal mesenchymal stem cells in an effective amount.

         29 . A method of controlling inflammation in an eye of an animal, comprising:
 administering to said animal mesenchymal stem cells in an amount effective to control said inflammation.   
     
     
         30 . The method of  claim 29 , wherein said inflammation is in a cornea, lens, pigment epithelium, or retina. 
     
     
         31 . The method of  claim 29 , wherein said inflammation is associated with uveitis. 
     
     
         32 . The method of  claim 29 , wherein said mesenchymal stem cells are allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells. 
     
     
         33 . The method of  claim 29 , wherein said mesenchymal stem cells are CD73 + . 
     
     
         34 . The method of  claim 29 , wherein said mesenchymal stem cells are CD105 + . 
     
     
         35 . The method of  claim 29 , wherein said mesenchymal stem cells are allogeneic CD73 + /CD105 +  mesenchymal stem cells. 
     
     
         36 . The method of  claim 29 , wherein said mesenchymal stem cells are administered intravenously. 
     
     
         37 . A method of treating an inflammatory response in an eye of an animal, comprising:
 administering to said animal mesenchymal stem cells in an amount effective to treat said inflammatory response.   
     
     
         38 . The method of  claim 37 , wherein said inflammatory response is in a cornea, lens, pigment epithelium, or retina.

         45 . A method of treating autoimmune uveitis in an animal, comprising:
 administering to said animal mesenchymal stem cells in an amount effective to treat said uveitis.

         47 . The method of  claim 45 , wherein said mesenchymal stem cells are CD73 + . 
     
     
         48 . The method of  claim 45 , wherein said mesenchymal stem cells are CD105 + . 
     
     
         49 . The method of  claim 45 , wherein said mesenchymal stem cells are allogeneic CD73 + /CD105 +  mesenchymal stem cells.
