Screw connection element and protective covering therefor

Abstract

A screw connection element has an outer threaded portion with a plurality of threads in which a sealing element is disposed and a front end for being screwed with the front end first into a connection element to be joined and having a corresponding inner thread portion, a protective sheath-like covering surrounding the outer threaded portion for retaining the sealing element in the threads and composed of a flexible material; and a thread situated at a- the front end threaded portion and free of the sealing means, wherein the protective covering is formed at this position such that it enters into the thread free of the sealing means and such that a form-fitting thread connection is produced between the front end and the protective covering in an axial direction of the outer threaded portion.

A screw connection element, comprising an outer threaded portion having a plurality of threads in which sealing means are disposed and a front end for being screwed with said front end first into a connection element to be joined and having a corresponding inner thread portion; a protective sheath-like covering surrounding said outer threaded portion for retaining said sealing means in said threads and composed of a flexible material; and a thread situated at said front end and free of said sealing means, wherein said protective covering is formed at this position such that it enters into said thread free of said sealing means and such that a form-fitting thread connection is produced between said front end and said protective covering in an axial direction of said outer threaded portion. 
   
   
       2 . A screw connection element as defined in  claim 1 , wherein said form-fitting connection between said protective covering and said thread is configured as a deformed portion of said protective covering at the front end such that it enters into said thread. 
   
   
       3 . A screw connection element as defined in  claim 1 , wherein said protective covering is configured as an immersion-applied or a spraying-applied protective covering on said outer threaded portion. 
   
   
       4 . A screw connection element as defined in  claim 1 , wherein said protective covering includes a sheath which is configured as a deep-drawn sheath and screwed onto said outer threaded portion. 
   
   
       5 . A screw connection element as defined in  claim 1 , wherein said form fitting connection is configured as a shrinkage-produced form-fitting connection or a compression-produced form-fitting connection. 
   
   
       6 . A screw connection element as defined in  claim 1 , wherein said sealing means abuts directly on the threads of said outer threaded portion, and said protective covering has an inner diameter which corresponds substantially to an outer diameter of said outer threaded portion. 
   
   
       7 . A screw connection element as defined in  claim 1 , wherein said sealing means is composed of a material selected from the group consisting of a long fibrous material and a thread-shaped material. 
   
   
       8 . A screw connection element as defined in  claim 1 , wherein said sealing means include hemp fibers.
