Abstract
Systems and methods for generating annotations for trick mode operation in a digital home communication terminal (DHCT) are disclosed. One such method comprises ingesting a program. The program includes a series of picture sequences. The method also comprises storing the program on a local storage device and, as the program is being ingested, creating annotation data which references locations on the storage device corresponding to the picture sequences.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for generating annotations for trick mode operation in a digital home communication terminal (DHCT), the method comprising:
ingesting a program, the program including a series of picture sequences; storing the program on a local storage device; and as the program is being ingested, creating annotation data which references locations on the storage device corresponding to the picture sequences.
1 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each picture sequence includes a header, and the annotation data includes the location on the storage device for each of the headers.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each picture sequence includes a header and each header includes a start code, wherein the annotation data includes the location on the storage device for each of the start codes.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each picture sequence includes a plurality of pictures, and the annotation data includes a picture type for each of the pictures.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each picture sequence includes a plurality of pictures, and the annotation data includes a real time for when each of the pictures was stored.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
storing program information related to the program in a program information file.Cited by (0)
