Bag with improved features

Abstract

The bag for receiving refuse may include a bag body, the bag body including an inside surface, an outside surface, and a rim defining a mouth. The bag may also include a first strip of material disposed on the inside surface of the bag body proximate the rim. The strip may include an inside surface, an outside surface that faces the inside surface of the body, a top edge, and a bottom edge. The bag may also include a front wall, a back wall, and a hem, the hem including a drawstring. The strip may include a printed design. The design could be letters, numbers, pictures, writing, or any other design. When the bag is inserted into a trash receptacle such that the rim of the bag is folded over the rim of the receptacle, the printed design is visible from outside the receptacle.

1 . A bag for receiving refuse comprising;
 a bag body, the bag body including,   a first portion, the first portion including an upper rim, the upper rim defining a mouth; and   a second portion disposed below the first portion, the second portion defining a closed bottom to the bag;   wherein the first portion has a different property than the second portion.   
   
   
       2 . The bag of  claim 1  wherein at least some areas of the first portion and the second portion are parts of the same continuous piece of material. 
   
   
       3 . The bag of  claim 2  wherein the sheet is an extruded sheet of material. 
   
   
       4 . The bag of  claim 1  wherein the first portion and the second portion are separate pieces that have been joined together, the first portion including a bottom rim defining an opening, the second portion including an upper rim defining an opening, wherein the bottom rim of the first portion is joined to the upper rim of the second portion such that the mouth constitutes the only opening to the bag. 
   
   
       5 . The bag of  claim 1  wherein the first portion is comprised of a first layer and a second layer, the second layer and the first layer being joined together, wherein the first layer of the first portion and the second portion comprise parts of the same continuous piece of material. 
   
   
       6 . The bag of  claim 1  wherein the first portion is thicker than the second portion. 
   
   
       7 . The bag of  claim 1  wherein the first portion includes a printed design. 
   
   
       8 . The bag of  claim 1  wherein the first portion and second portion are comprised of different materials. 
   
   
       9 . The bag of  claim 1  wherein the first portion includes an agent. 
   
   
       10 . The bag of  claim 9  wherein the agent is an odor neutralizing agent. 
   
   
       11 . The bag of  claim 9  wherein the agent is liquid absorbing agent. 
   
   
       12 . The bag of  claim 9  wherein the agent is a fragrance releasing agent. 
   
   
       13 . The bag of  claim 9  wherein the agent is an antimicrobial agent. 
   
   
       14 . The bag of  claim 1  wherein the first portion and the second portion are different colors. 
   
   
       15 . The bag of  claim 1  wherein the first portion constitutes a hem, the hem including a drawstring. 
   
   
       16 . The bag of  claim 1  wherein the upper rim is an undulating rim, the rim including at least two flaps, wherein the flaps may be tied together to at least partially close the bag. 
   
   
       17 . The bag of  claim 16  wherein at least two flaps include a hole that passes therethrough.
