Abstract
A diverter valve assembly which eliminates rotational motion for actuation.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A diverter valve assembly comprising:
a valve body which defines an inlet, a first outlet and a second outlet; a rigid core a resilient core mounted to said rigid core; a handle core engaged with said rigid core, said handle core movable between a first position and a second position, said first position engages said resilient core with said valve body and blocks said second outlet to divert a fluid from said inlet to said first outlet, said second position engages said resilient core with said valve body and block said first outlet to divert said fluid from said inlet to said second outlet.
2 . The assembly as recited in claim 1 , further comprising a handle engaged with said handle core.
3 . The assembly as recited in claim 1 , wherein said handle core is movable about a pivot
4 . The assembly as recited in claim 3 , wherein said pivot is defined by a ball section.
5 . The assembly as recited in claim 1 , wherein said rigid core slides relative said valve body.
6 . The assembly as recited in claim 1 , further comprising a detent biased from said rigid core to engage said valve body.
7 . The assembly as recited in claim 6 , further comprising a spring which biases said detent.
8 . The assembly as recited in claim 1 , further comprising a housing within which said valve body is contained.
9 . The assembly as recited in claim 1 , wherein said rigid core is manufactured of a first material and said resilient core is manufactured of a second material, said second material less dense than said first material.
10 . A diverter valve assembly comprising:
a housing which defines a housing inlet, a first housing outlet and a second housing outlet; a valve body which defines an inlet in communication with said housing inlet, a first outlet in communication with said first housing outlet, and a second outlet in communication with said second housing outlet; a rigid core; a resilient core mounted to said rigid core; a handle core engaged with said rigid core; a handle engaged with said handle core, said handle movable between a first position and a second position, said first position engages said resilient core with said valve body and blocks said second outlet to divert a fluid from said inlet to said first outlet, said second position engages said resilient core with said valve body and block said first outlet to divert said fluid from said inlet to said second outlet.
11 . The assembly as recited in claim 10 , further comprising housing front cover which retains said handle, said housing front cover mounted to said housing.
12 . The assembly as recited in claim 11 , wherein said handle core is movable within a fix plate, said fix plate mounted to said valve body.
13 . The assembly as recited in claim 12 , wherein said handle core is movable about a pivot.
14 . The assembly as recited in claim 13 , wherein said pivot is defined by a ball section.
15 . The assembly as recited in claim 14 , further comprising a flange mounted to said fix plate to pivotally trap said ball section therebetween.Cited by (0)
