Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A combination keyboard and cover assembly, comprising:
 (a) a keyboard having at least one input key assembly positioned within a housing; and (b) a cover sized and configured to substantially encase the keyboard, the cover having a substantially flat top surface to resist wrinkling during use and a predetermined flexibility to substantially mechanically isolate one input key assembly from a second input key assembly during a key stroke input travel distance of at least 0.05 inches.

2 . The combination keyboard and cover assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cover is formed from an elastomeric material.

3 . The combination keyboard and cover assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cover is removably coupled to the keyboard.

4 . The combination keyboard and cover assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cover is formed from a translucent material to permit the at least one input key assembly to be visible through the cover with substantial clarity.

5 . The combination keyboard and cover assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cover further comprises a protective coating.

6 . The combination keyboard and cover assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cover is coupled to the keyboard by wrapping around sides of the keyboard.

7 . The combination keyboard and cover assembly of claim 1 , wherein the keyboard is backlit by a lighting assembly disposed within the keyboard.
