Abstract

The present invention provides methods and compositions for screening, diagnosis and prognosis of HCC, glioblastoma and lung cancer, for monitoring the effectiveness of HCC, glioblastoma and lung cancer treatment, and for drug development.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 62 . (canceled)

63 . A method of treating or preventing HCC, glioblastoma or lung cancer which comprises administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising an affinity reagent capable of specific binding to OGTA025, or a fragment or derivative thereof and a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent or carrier.

64 . An affinity reagent capable of specific binding to OGTA025 or a fragment thereof.

65 . An affinity reagent according to claim 64 which further comprises a diagnostic or a therapeutic moiety.

66 . An affinity reagent according to claim 64 wherein said affinity reagent is selected from the group consisting of an antibody, an Affibody, a Nanobody, an Unibody or a Domain Antibody.

67 . An affinity reagent according to claim 66 , wherein said antibody is a monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof.

68 . An affinity reagent according to claim 65 wherein said affinity reagent is selected from the group consisting of an antibody, an Affibody, a Nanobody, an Unibody or a Domain Antibody.

69 . An affinity reagent according to claim 68 , wherein said antibody is a monoclonal antibody or a fragment thereof.

70 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of an affinity reagent according to claim 64 .

71 . A kit comprising an affinity reagent according to claim 64 .

         72 . A method comprising
 a. identifying the presence or absence of OGTA025, or a fragment thereof, or b. determining whether OGTA025, or a fragment thereof, is increased/decreased in a biological sample obtained from said human subject, whereby if a) the presence of OGTA025 is indicative of HCC, glioblastoma or lung cancer of if b) increased OGTA025 is indicative of HCC, glioblastoma or lung cancer.

73 . A method as defined in claim 72 , wherein the method comprises an immunoassay step utilising an affinity reagent capable of specific binding to OGTA025 or a fragment thereof.

74 . A method for screening, diagnosis or prognosis of HCC, glioblastoma or lung cancer in a subject or for monitoring the effect of an anti-HCC, an anti-glioblastoma or an anti-lung cancer drug or therapy administered to a subject, comprising: in a sample from the subject, quantitatively detecting OGTA025, wherein the step of quantitatively detecting comprises testing the sample, said step of testing comprising:
 a. contacting the sample with an affinity reagent as defined in claim 64 ; and b. detecting whether binding has occurred between the affinity reagent and at least one species in the sample.

75 . A method according to claim 72 , wherein the sample is a sample of liver, glioblastoma or lung tissue.

76 . A method according to claim 74 , wherein the sample is a sample of liver, glioblastoma or lung tissue.

77 . A method according to claim 72 , wherein the method of determining the abundance of OGTA025 comprises imaging said labelled antibodies or Affibodies.

78 . A method according to claim 77 , wherein said imaging comprises carrying out immunohistochemistry to determine the localisation of HCC, glioblastoma or lung cancer cells by the use of labeled affinity reagents capable of specific binding to OGTA025 or a fragment thereof.

79 . A method according to claim 63 wherein OGTA025 or a fragment or derivative thereof is defined by SEQ ID No: 1 or SEQ ID No: 2 or comprises one or more sequences of SEQ ID Nos 4-9.
