Abstract

In embodiments there is described a cardiovascular tube-shaped lockable and expandable bioabsorbable scaffold having a low immunogenicity manufactured from a crystallizable bioabsorbable polymer composition or blend.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A bioabsorbable scaffold circumferential about a longitudinal axis so as to form a tube comprising:
 (a) a plurality of first meandering elements extending around the circumference of the scaffold; (b) a plurality of second meandering elements intercalated between adjacent first meandering elements.

2 . The bioabsorbable scaffold of claim 1 wherein the first meandering element forms a sinusoidal shape.

3 . The bioabsorbable scaffold of claim 2 wherein the second meandering element forms a hoop when the scaffold is fully deployed.

4 . The bioabsorbable scaffold of claim 1 wherein the first meandering element forms a sinusoidal pattern when the scaffold is deployed.

5 . The bioabsorbable scaffold of claim 4 wherein the scaffold is fully deployed.

6 . The bioabsorbable scaffold of claim 5 wherein the second meandering element forms a hoop.

7 . The bioabsorbable scaffold of claim 1 further comprising a locking means attached to at least one first meandering element.

8 . The bioabsorbable scaffold of claim 1 further comprising a key-in-lock design element attached to at least one first meandering element.

9 . The bioabsorbable scaffold of claim 1 wherein the second meandering element is made from a material which crystallizes when the tube is in its expanded state.

10 . The bioabsorbable scaffold of claim 1 further comprising a hook design element attached to at least one first meandering element.

11 . The bioabsorbable scaffold of claim 1 wherein the plurality of first meandering elements are interconnected to the second meandering elements.

       12 . A stent comprising:
a plurality of biodegradable, circumferential band; and a plurality of biodegradable interconnection structures spanning between each pair of circumferential bands and connected to multiple points on each.

13 . The stent of claim 12 , wherein the stent is in an expanded configuration.

14 . The stent of claim 12 , wherein the stent is in an unexpanded configuration.

15 . The stent of claim 12 , further comprising a locking means connected to the circumferential bands.

16 . The stent of claim 12 , further comprising a key-in-lock design element attached to at least one circumferential band.
