Spot welding tongs for robotic applications in resistance welding or workpieces
Abstract
There are spot welding tongs for robotic applications in resistance welding of workpieces, in particular sheets, comprising tong arms, mounted such as to pivot on a base body, which may be adjusted using an operator and to which electrode holders for the electrodes are fixed and a winding device with a pay-out roller and a wind-in roller, for the winding in and out of a strip to protect at least one electrode. According to one embodiment, such spot welding tongs may be produced, in which access is not seriously affected and with a very simple and compact construction, whereby the pay-out roller and the wind-in roller of the winding device are arranged on the base body, or the tongs arm and at least one guide groove, for guiding the strip, is arranged in the tongs arm and/or the electrode holder.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . Spot welding tongs for robotic applications for the resistance welding or workpieces comprising:
a base body; a plurality of tong arms which are each pivotally mounted on said base body; an actuator wherein said tong arms are adjustable by said actuator; a plurality of electrodes; an electrode holder to which at least one of said electrodes are fastened wherein said electrode holder is coupled to each of said tong arms, at least one main element; at least one drag strut or drag rope; wherein said tong arms are each comprised of said main element which is prestressed by said at least one drag strut or drag rope.

The spot welding tongs according to claim 1 , that wherein further comprising at least one retaining plate which is arranged on said at least one main element of the tong arm, wherein said at least one drag strut or the drag rope is guided in a spaced-apart relationship to said at least one main element via said retaining plate.
3 . The spot welding tongs according to claim 1 , wherein said at least one main element is formed by a round section.
4 . The spot welding tongs according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one drag strut, or the drag rope, is arranged on that side of said at least one main element, on which said electrode holder extends.
5 . The spot welding tongs according to claim 1 , further comprising a holding strut or a holding rope which is provided in addition to the at least one drag strut or drag rope, respectively.
6 . The spot welding tongs according to claim 1 , wherein said at least one drag strut, or drag rope, and/or the holding strut, or the holding rope, are arranged at an angle of between 10 degrees and 30 degrees relative to said at least one main element of said plurality of tong arms.

The spot welding tongs according to claim 1 , wherein the drag strut, or the drag rope, and said holding strut, or holding rope, extend from a side of said at least one main element, to which the electrode holder is attached, as far as to an opposite side of said base body on said at least one main element.
8 . The spot welding tongs according to claim 1 , further comprising guiding grooves which are formed on at least one of said plurality of tong arms to receive a strip for the protection of the electrodes.
9 . The spot welding tongs as in claim 8 , wherein each of said plurality of tong arms further comprise guiding grooves.
10 . The spot welding tongs as in claim 1 wherein said actuator is an actuating means for adjusting at least one of said plurality of tong arms.Cited by (0)
