Insulation kit for hot water boiler

Abstract

The insulation kit for covering a hot water boiler has a series of insulation panels joined to each other along straight joints and corner joints. Each of the straight joints and corner joints has elastic tape mounted transversely thereon in a stretched mode, for maintaining the joint in a compressed state. In another aspect, each vertical corner joint is a miter joint forming a right angle, and is made with abutting edges each having a 55° bevel angle thereon in a relaxed mode.

An insulation kit for covering a hot water boiler; comprising a series of insulation panels joined to each other along straight joints and corner joints, and each of said straight joints and corner having elastic tape mounted transversely thereon in a stretched mode, for maintaining said straight joints and corner joints in a compressed state.

The insulation kit as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein said series of panels comprises a top panel extending horizontally over said hot water boiler, and side and end panels covering sides and ends respectively of said hot water boiler, and wherein said top panel has an overhang over sides and ends of said hot water boiler. 
   
   
       3 . The insulation kit as claimed in  claim 2  wherein said side panels and said end panels jointly enclose all edges of said top panel.

The insulation kit as claimed in  claim 3 , wherein said top panel is larger and longer than dimensions defined by said side panels and said end panels such that said top panel is in a compressed state and is bowed upwardly when installed on a hot water boiler, providing a dead air space between said top panel and said hot water boiler. 
   
   
       5 . The insulation kit as claimed in  claim 4 , further having longitudinal tapes covering said corner joints, said straight joints and said elastic tapes. 
   
   
       6 . The insulation kit as claimed in  claim 2 , wherein said side panels and end panels are made of board-like fiberglass insulation material. 
   
   
       7 . The insulation kit as claimed in  claim 6 , wherein said top panel is made of blanket-type compressible fiberglass insulation material.

The insulation kit as claimed in  claim 2 , wherein said corner joints comprises vertical corner joints and said vertical corner joints are miter joints forming a right angle, and each of said vertical corner joint is made with abutting edges each having a 55° bevel angle thereon in a relaxed mode. 
   
   
       9 . The insulation kit as claimed in  claim 8 , wherein an extent of said overhang is one inch. 
   
   
       10 . The insulation kit as claimed in  claim 4 , wherein said top panel in a relaxed mode is larger and longer by two inches respectively than dimensions defined by said side panels and said end panels such that said top panel is mounted between said side panels and said end panels in a tight-fit and compressed mode.
