Abstract
Techniques for performing panoramic scaling are disclosed that reduce visible distortion in a panoramic image. Further, techniques for performing combined YC adjustment and color conversion are disclosed that reduce the size and power requirements of video manipulation hardware by reducing the number of logic gates and memory buffers required when YC adjustment and color conversion are implemented as separate operations.

11 . A method of performing combined YC adjustment and color conversion of video data, comprising:
receiving the video data; determining a combined coefficient for YC adjustment and color conversion; and applying the combined coefficient to the video data to achieve YC adjustment and color conversion in a single step.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein determining the combined coefficient for YC adjustment and color conversion comprises:
determining an equation for YC adjustment; determining a coefficient for color conversion; determining a combined linear equation for performing YC adjustment and color conversion in a single step; and determining the combined coefficient for YC adjustment and color conversion based on the combined linear equation.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the combined coefficient is a function of a YC adjustment parameter or a color conversion coefficient, and wherein the step of determining the combined coefficient includes substituting a value of the YC adjustment parameter or the color conversion coefficient into the combined linear equation to determine the combined coefficient's value.
14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the video data comprises one of:
luminosity data or color difference data for a pixel, modified luminosity or modified color difference data for a pixel, pixel data in the RGB color space.
15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein determining the combined coefficient is performed prior to receiving the video data and wherein applying the combined coefficient is performed in real time.
16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein applying the combined coefficient to the video data to achieve YC adjustment and color conversion in a single step includes at least one of:
adjusting a contrast of the video data, adjusting a brightness of the video data, adjusting a saturation of the video data, performing at least one of the following color space conversions on the video data:
YUV to RGB,
YUV to YIQ,
RGB to YUV,
RGB to YIQ,
YIQ to YUV, and
