additive, use of said additive in paper or board production, a method of improving paper or board manufacturing and a method of improving paper or board product

Abstract

An additive for paper or board production e.g. for decreasing pitch problems. The additive includes at least a component including fatty acid glycerides, preferably triglycerides, comprising a high percentage of unsaturated, preferably polyunsaturated, fatty acids. Raw or partly polymerized plant oil, such as sunflower oil, may be used.

1 . A paper or paper board comprising an internal or surface sizing additive which additive comprises
 a component including fatty acid glycerides, wherein the fatty acid glycerides are characterized by a high percentage of unsaturated fatty acids.   
   
   
       2 . The paper or paper board according to  claim 1 , wherein the component including fatty acid glycerides in which more than 10 wt. % of the fatty acids have more than 1 double bond. 
   
   
       3 . The paper or paper board according to  claim 1 , wherein the component including fatty acid glycerides in which >60 wt. % of the fatty acids have 2 double bonds. 
   
   
       4 . The paper or paper board according to  claim 1 , wherein the component including fatty acid glycerides in which >10 wt. % of the fatty acids have 3 double bonds. 
   
   
       5 . The paper or paper board according to  claim 1 , wherein the component including fatty acid glycerides are raw or partly polymerized plant oil. 
   
   
       6 . The paper or paper board according to  claim 1  which additive further includes one or more emulsion stabilizers selected from the group consisting of natural or synthetic polymers or inorganic particles. 
   
   
       7 . The paper or paper board according to  claim 1  which additive further includes one or more surfactants. 
   
   
       8 . The paper or paper board according to  claim 1  which additive further includes at least one conventional sizing component. 
   
   
       9 . A paper or paper board according to  claim 1 , which fatty acid glycerides make up at least 0.5-10 kg per ton of produced paper. 
   
   
       10 . A paper or paper board according to  claim 1 , wherein the sizing additive is an internal sizing additive.
