Abstract

Novel markers for breast cancer that are both sensitive and accurate. These markers are overexpressed in breast cancer specifically, as opposed to normal breast tissue. The measurement of these markers, alone or in combination, in patient samples provides information that the diagnostician can correlate with a probable diagnosis of breast cancer. The markers of the present invention, alone or in combination, show a high degree of differential detection between breast cancer and non-cancerous states.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. An isolated polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence at least about 90% homologous to the amino acid sequence of T94936_PEA — 1_P3 (SEQ ID NO:207).

. The polypeptide of claim 1 , comprising a first portion having an amino acid sequence being at least about 90% homologous to amino acids 1-122 of T94936_PEA — 1_P3 SEQ ID NO:207, and a second portion having amino acid sequence being at least about 80%, 85%, 90%, 95% or 100% homologous to SEQ ID NO:1019, wherein the first amino acid sequence and the second amino acid sequence are contiguous.

. The polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein said polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence at least 95% homologous to SEQ ID NO:207.

. The polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein said polypeptide comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:207.

. The polypeptide of claim 2 , wherein said first portion comprises an amino acid sequence at least 95% homologous to amino acids 1-122 of SEQ ID NO:207.

. The polypeptide of claim 2 , wherein said first portion comprises the amino acid sequence of amino acids 1-122 of SEQ ID NO:207.

. The polypeptide of claim 2 , wherein said second portion comprises an amino acid sequence at least 95% homologous to SEQ ID NO:1019.

. The polypeptide of claim 2 , wherein said second portion comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1019.

. The isolated polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein said polypeptide is attached to a label.

. The isolated polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein said polypeptide is isolated from a cancer cell.

. The isolated polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein said polypeptide is recombinantly expressed.

. The isolated polypeptide of claim 11 , wherein said polypeptide is isolated from an E. coli cell.

. An antigenic fragment of the polypeptide of claim 1 .

. An isolated polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence at least about 80%, 85%, 90%, or 95% homologous to the amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1019.

. The polypeptide of claim 14 , comprising the sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1019.

. The polypeptide of claim 14 , wherein said polypeptide is attached to a label.
