Abstract
Methods and devices for providing dialysis treatment are provided. The device includes a resin bed including zirconium phosphate, zirconium oxide, and urease.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A cartridge for regenerating dialysis solution comprising: a layer for removing uremic waste from said dialysis solution; a urea removal layer that rejects calcium and magnesium ions; and an ion-exchange layer for removing at least phosphate from said dialysis solution.
2 . The cartridge of claim 1 wherein the layer for removing uremic waste comprises activated carbon.
3 . The cartridge of claim 1 wherein the ion-exchange layer is comprised on an ion-exchange resin.
4 . The cartridge of claim 1 wherein the urea removal layer further comprises:
an enzyme to degrade the urea; and an ion-exchange sorbent to absorb the urea degradation products.
5 . The cartridge of claim 4 wherein the enzyme to degrade the urea is urease.
6 . The cartridge of claim 4 wherein the ion exchange sorbent is a zirconium phosphate resin.
7 . The cartridge of claim 1 wherein the dialysis solution is peritoneal dialysis solution.
8 . The cartridge of claim 1 , wherein the layer for removing uremic waste removes uremic waste selected from the group consisting of creatinine, uric acid, and combinations thereof.
9 . (canceled)
10 . The cartridge of claim 1 , wherein the ion-exchange layer further removes sodium.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
