Blow-molded table
Abstract
A collapsible table includes a blow-molded tabletop, a pair of opposing collapsible support stands, a pair of tubular frame members and a plurality of fasteners. The table top includes a hollow cavity between the top and bottom surfaces. A lip lies along the tabletop perimeter, encloses the hollow cavity, and extends beyond the bottom of the table. The support stands are pivotally attached to and between the frame members and support the tabletop in an upright position when positioned perpendicularly to the table top. The frame members are attached to the bottom of the table top by the fasteners. The fasteners extend through the frame members and bottom surface, but do not enter the top surface of the table top or the lip.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A tabletop for a collapsible table, the tabletop comprising:
a blow-molded structure comprising:
a substantially planar first surface,
a second surface opposite the first surface,
an internal hollow cavity between the first and second surfaces, and
a lip disposed about an outer perimeter of the blow-molded structure and connecting the first and second surfaces and enclosing the cavity between the first and second surfaces and extending outwardly from the second surface;
a plurality of substantially parallel tubular frame members, including at least one frame member attached to the second surface of the blow-molded structure adjacent the lip; and a plurality of fasteners extending through each frame member and into the second surface but not into the lip, the fasteners oriented at an acute angle with respect to the second surface.
2 . The tabletop of claim 1 wherein the fasteners comprise screws.
3 . The tabletop of claim 1 wherein the fasteners extend into the cavity between the first and second surfaces.
4 . The tabletop of claim 1 wherein the tubular frame members are substantially cylindrical.
5 . The tabletop of claim 1 wherein the tubular frame members are substantially rectangular.
6 . A collapsible table comprising:
a tabletop comprising:
a substantially planar first surface,
a second surface opposite the first surface,
an internal hollow cavity between the first and second surfaces, and
a lip disposed about an outer perimeter of the blow-molded structure and connecting the first and second surfaces and enclosing the cavity between the first and second surfaces and extending outwardly from the second surface;
a pair of substantially parallel tubular frame members attached to the second surface of the tabletop adjacent the lip; a plurality of fasteners extending through each frame member and into the second surface but not into the lip, the fasteners oriented at an acute angle with respect to the second surface; and a pair of opposing support stands pivotally attached to and between the frame members, the support stands operable to be positioned in an upright position in which the support stands are disposed substantially perpendicular to the second surface of the tabletop and in a collapsed position in which the support stands are disposed substantially parallel to the second surface of the table top.
7 . The collapsible table of claim 6 wherein the fasteners comprise screws.
8 . The collapsible table of claim 6 wherein the fasteners extend into the cavity between the first and second surfaces.
9 . The tabletop of claim 6 wherein the tubular frame members are substantially cylindrical.
10 . The tabletop of claim 6 wherein the tubular frame members are substantially rectangular.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
