Abstract

A gasket intended for top-down, press fit installation of a sink in a counter. The gasket includes a body having a flange adapted to engage a portion of the sink. The body further includes a receiver and at least one projection extending from the body. A method of using the gasket is also disclosed.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A gasket intended for top-down, press fit installation of a sink in a counter, comprising:
a body having a flange adapted to engage a portion of the sink, said body further including a receiver adapted to receive an anchor extending from an underside of the sink; and at least one projection extending from the body and spaced apart from the flange, wherein positioning the gasket between the sink and the counter secures and seals the sink.

2 . The gasket of claim 1 , wherein the flange extends outwardly from the body.

3 . The gasket of claim 2 , wherein the flange includes a substantially curved top surface to engage an undersurface of a rim of the sink and a substantially planar bottom surface adapted to engage a top surface of the counter.

4 . The gasket of claim 1 , wherein the receiver includes at least one horizontal recess.

5 . The gasket of claim 1 , wherein the receiver includes at least one lip for engaging at least a portion of the anchor.

6 . The gasket of claim 1 , wherein the receiver includes at least one vertical recess.

7 . The gasket of claim 1 , wherein the gasket includes a plurality of projections.

8 . The gasket of claim 7 , wherein at least one of the plurality of projections is metallic.

9 . The gasket of claim 1 , wherein the gasket is an endless belt.

10 . A gasket intended for top-down, press fit installation of a sink in a counter, comprising:
a body having a flange adapted to engage a portion of the sink; at least one projection extending from the body; and a receiver adapted to receive a portion of the sink, said receiver positioned beneath the top of the counter when the sink is installed.

11 . The gasket of claim 10 , wherein the receiver includes at least one horizontal recess.

12 . The gasket of claim 10 , wherein the receiver includes at least one lip for engaging at least a portion of the sink.

13 . The gasket of claim 10 , wherein the receiver includes at least one vertical recess.

14 . The gasket of claim 10 , wherein the gasket includes a plurality of projections.

15 . The gasket of claim 14 , wherein at least one of the plurality of projections is metallic.

16 . The gasket of claim 10 , wherein the gasket is an endless belt.

17 . A gasket intended for top-down, press fit installation of a sink in a counter, comprising:
a body having a flange adapted to engage a portion of the sink, the body having a section extending a distance below a top of the counter when the sink is installed; at least one projection extending from the section of the body extending the distance below the top of the counter; and a receiver adapted to receive a portion of the sink, said receiver attached to the body.

18 . The gasket of claim 17 , wherein the receiver includes at least one recess.

19 . The gasket of claim 17 , wherein the gasket includes a plurality of projections.

20 . The gasket of claim 17 , wherein the gasket is an endless belt.
