Abstract

The present invention relates to IL-17 Receptor A (IL-17RA or IL-17R) antigen binding proteins, such as antibodies, polynucleotide sequences encoding said antigen binding proteins, and compositions and methods for diagnosing and treating diseases mediated by IL-17 Receptor A activation by one or more IL-17 ligands. The present invention relates to the identification of neutralizing determinants on IL-17 Receptor A (IL-17RA or IL-17R) and antibodies that bind thereto. Aspects of the invention also include antibodies that compete for binding with the IL-17RA neutralizing antibodies described herein.

         101 . An isolated antibody, comprising a human monoclonal antibody or IL-17 Receptor A binding fragment thereof that specifically binds IL-17 Receptor A and inhibits IL-17A from binding and activating said receptor. 
     
     
         102 . The antibody according to  claim 101 , wherein said antibody further inhibits IL-17F from binding and activating said receptor. 
     
     
         103 . The antibody according to  claim 101 , wherein said antibody is selected from the group consisting of:
 a. a humanized antibody;   h. a chimeric antibody;   c. a recombinant antibody;   d. a single chain antibody;   e. a diabody;   f. a triabody;   g. a tetrabody;   h. a Fab fragment;   i. a F(ab′)2 fragment;   j. an IgD antibody;   k. an IgE antibody;   l. an IgM antibody;   m. an IgG1 antibody;   n. an IgG2 antibody;   o. an IgG3 antibody; and   p. an IgG4 antibody.   
     
     
         104 . The antibody according to  claim 101 , wherein said antibody comprises an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of:

 a. a light chain variable domain sequence that is at least 80% identical to a light chain variable domain sequence of AM L 1-26 (SEQ ID NOs:27-53, respectively); 
 h. a heavy chain variable domain sequence that is at least 80% identical to a heavy chain variable domain sequence of AM H 1-26 (SEQ ID NOs:1-26, respectively); or
