Abstract
Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for selecting cable pairs. Data is received describing existing communications equipment being used in connection with a service at a customer service location. An assignment is retrieved for a cable pair associated with the customer service location. Replacement cable pairs are requested to replace the assigned cable pair. At least one alternate cable pair is received that is available to provide the service at the customer service location.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for selecting cable pairs, comprising:
receiving data describing existing communications equipment being used in connection with a service at a customer service location; retrieving an assignment for a cable pair associated with the customer service location; requesting replacement cable pairs to replace the assigned cable pair; and receiving at least one alternate cable pair available to provide the service at the customer service location.
2 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising receiving an unloaded cable pair available to provide the service at the customer service location.
3 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising determining at least one of the replacement cable pairs is unloaded.
4 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising determining at least one of the replacement cable pairs is loaded.
5 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising displaying the at least one alternate cable pair in a graphical user interface.
6 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising determining the at least one alternate cable pair is assigned to a same physical loop as the cable pair associated with the customer service location.
7 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising changing a status of the cable pair.
8 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising changing a status of the at least one alternate cable pair.
9 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising testing the at least one alternate cable pair.
10 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising selecting the at least one alternate cable pair to provide the service to the existing communications equipment being used at the customer service location.
11 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising associating the at least one alternate cable pair to the existing communications equipment being used at the customer service location.
12 . A system for selecting cable pairs, comprising:
a server executing a software application that causes the server to: receive data describing existing communications equipment being used in connection with a service at a customer service location; retrieve an assignment for a cable pair associated with the customer service location; request replacement cable pairs to replace the assigned cable pair; and receive at least one alternate cable pair available to provide the service at the customer service location.
13 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the software application causes the server to test the at least one alternate cable pair.
14 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the software application causes the server to select the at least one alternate cable pair to provide the service to the existing communications equipment being used at the customer service location.
15 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the software application causes the server to associate the at least one alternate cable pair to the existing communications equipment being used at the customer service location.
16 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the software application causes the server to determine at least one of the replacement cable pairs is unloaded.
17 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the software application causes the server to display the at least one alternate cable pair in a graphical user interface.
18 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the software application causes the server to determine the at least one alternate cable pair is assigned to a same physical loop as the cable pair associated with the customer service location.
19 . A computer readable medium storing a software application that performs a method for selecting cable pairs, the method comprising:
receiving data describing existing communications equipment being used in connection with digital subscriber line service at a customer service location; retrieving an assignment for a cable pair associated with the customer service location; requesting replacement cable pairs to replace the assigned cable pair; and receiving at least one alternate cable pair available to provide the digital subscriber line service at the customer service location.
20 . The computer readable medium according to claim 19 , further comprising associating the at least one alternate cable pair to the existing communications equipment being used at the customer service location.Cited by (0)
