Abstract
A markup language enabled device ( 17 ) comprises storage means ( 21 ) storing data, the data for enabling augmentation of an experience by providing extra functionality to a movie or a game for example. The device ( 17 ) further comprises transmitting means ( 23 ) for transmitting the data, receiving means ( 25 ) for receiving a real-world description in the form of an instruction set of a markup language and adjusting means ( 27 ) for adjusting one or more parameters of the device according to the description.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 17 . (canceled)
18 . A method of operating a real device capable of generating ambient stimuli and having at least one adjustable parameter associated therewith, the method comprising:
a) storing a real-world description in the form of at least one markup language instruction; b) communicating the real-world description to others of network objects; c) receiving a specific parameter adjustment from another of the network objects; d) modifying the least one parameter according to the specific parameter adjustment; and e) generating ambient stimuli according to the modified parameter.
19 . The method of claim 18 wherein c) comprises:
c1) interpreting the markup language instruction representing the real-world description with a browser process.
20 . The method of claim 19 wherein c) comprises:
c1) receiving a specific parameter adjustment from another real device.
21 . The method of claim 18 wherein c) comprises:
c1) receiving a specific parameter adjustment from another real device.
22 . The method of claim 18 wherein e) comprises:
e1) generating sound stimuli according to the modified parameter.
23 . The method of claim 18 wherein e) comprises:
e1) generating light stimuli according to the modified parameter.
24 . The method of claim 18 wherein e) comprises:
e1) generating haptic stimuli according to the modified parameter.
25 . The method of claim 18 wherein e) comprises:
e1) generating smell stimuli according to the modified parameter.
26 . A real device operably coupled to other network objects and capable of generating ambient stimuli and having at least one adjustable parameter related thereto, the device comprising:
means for storing a real-world description in the form of at least one instruction of a markup language; means for communicating the real-world description to other of the network objects; means for receiving a specific parameter adjustment from another of the network objects; and means for modifying the at least one adjustable parameter according to the specific parameter adjustment.
27 . The real device of claim 26 wherein the means for receiving a specific parameter adjustment comprises:
a browser process for interpreting the markup language instructions representing the real-world description.
28 . A real-world representation system comprising:
A) a plurality of real devices having one or more real-world parameters and capable of generating ambient stimulus, one of the real devices capable of storing and transmitting a real world description; B) a server, operably coupled to the plurality of real devices, the server comprising:
i) means for interpreting a received real-world description;
ii) means for generating a specific parameter adjustment in accordance with an interpretation of a received real-world description; and
iii) means for communicating the specific parameter adjustment to the plurality of real devices.
29 . The real-world representation system of claim 28 wherein the real-world description comprises at least one instruction of a mark up language and wherein the one or more real-world parameters of the plurality of real devices are markup language enabled.
30 . The real-world representation system of claim 28 wherein the means for interpreting a received real-world description comprises a browser process executing on the server.
31 . The real-world representation system of claim 28 wherein the means for interpreting a received real-world description comprises an operating system process executing on the server.
32 . The real-world representation system of claim 28 wherein said one real device is capable of storing and transmitting a real world description in the form of at least one instruction of a markup language.
33 . The real-world representation system of claim 28 wherein said one real device is capable of storing and transmitting a real world description in the form of a URL.
34 . The real-world representation system of claim 28 wherein said one real device is capable of storing and transmitting a real world description in the form of a computer-readable program.
35 . The real-world representation system of claim 28 wherein one or more real-world parameters of the plurality of real devices are markup language enabled.
36 . The real-world representation system of claim 26 wherein the at least one adjustable parameter of the real device is markup language enabled.Cited by (0)
