Bird feeder

Abstract

A miniature size bird feeder that includes a feed holder; a cap or cover over the feed holder; means for releasably attaching the cap or cover to the feed holder and an attachment means for supporting the feed holder.

1 . A miniature size bird feeder comprising:
 a feed holder;   a cap or cover over the feed holder;   means for releasably attaching the cap or cover to the feed holder;   and an attachment means for supporting the feed holder;   wherein said attachment means comprises a pivot clamp;   wherein said pivot clamp comprises a pair of arms that may be opened or closed;   wherein said attachment means further includes a link that interconnects the pivot clamp and the feed holder.   
   
   
       2 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 1  wherein said arms each define at one end thereof a respective pair of jaws that may be secures to a separate member and at the other end thereof a respective pair of legs having ends that are spacedly disposed. 
   
   
       3 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 1  wherein said arms comprise respective jaws connected at a pivot joint. 
   
   
       4 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 3  wherein the link has a first end connected at the pivot joint of the jaws. 
   
   
       5 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 4  wherein the feed holder includes a lower socket and the link has an opposite end that is received in the socket. 
   
   
       6 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 5  wherein the interconnections at both ends of the link are tight so that the relative position between the pivot clamp and feed holder can be adjusted and maintained. 
   
   
       7 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 1  wherein said link has opposed ends that respectively form a first joint with the pivot clamp and a second joint with a bottom of the feed holder. 
   
   
       8 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 7  wherein the joints at respective opposed ends of the link are tight so that the relative position between the pivot clamp and feed holder can be adjusted and maintained. 
   
   
       9 . A miniature size bird feeder comprising:
 a feed holder having a feed port sized for access by a small bird;   and a handle for supporting the feed holder;   said handle having opposed ends that engage with the feed holder with the handle adapted to assume various positions relative to the feed holder.   
   
   
       10 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 9  wherein said handle includes substantially straight sides and an interconnecting middle curved section. 
   
   
       11 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 10  wherein the handle is substantially U-shaped with the opposed ends thereof disposed at substantially a right angle to the substantially straight sides. 
   
   
       12 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 11  wherein the feed holder has opposed slots for receiving respective opposed ends of the handle. 
   
   
       13 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 12  wherein the handle is supported from the feed holder in a manner so that the handle can be one of hung from an object and used as a support for the feed holder from a rest surface. 
   
   
       14 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 9  wherein the feed holder has opposed slots and the opposed ends of the handle are respectively mounted in the opposed slots. 
   
   
       15 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 14  wherein said handle is supported from the feed holder in a manner so that the handle can be one of hung from an object and used as a support for the feed holder from a rest surface. 
   
   
       16 . A miniature size bird feeder comprising:
 a feed holder having at least one feed port for access by a bird;   a pivot clamp for supporting the feed holder;   wherein said pivot clamp comprises a pair of arms that may be opened or closed;   wherein said attachment means further includes a link that interconnects the pivot clamp and the feed holder.   
   
   
       17 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 16  wherein said arms each define at one end thereof a respective pair of jaws that may be secures to a separate member and at the other end thereof a respective pair of legs having ends that are spacedly disposed.

A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 17  wherein said arms comprise respective jaws connected at a pivot joint, wherein the link has a first end connected at the pivot joint of the jaws, and wherein the feed holder includes a lower socket and the link has an opposite end that is received in the socket. 
   
   
       19 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 16  wherein the link has opposed ends that respectively form a first joint with the pivot clamp and a second joint with a bottom of the feed holder. 
   
   
       20 . A miniature size bird feeder of  claim 19  wherein the joints at respective opposed ends of the link are tight so that the relative position between the pivot clamp and feed holder can be adjusted and maintained.
