Claims

Abstract

A control device for use in the engine compartment or in the transmission of a motor vehicle. The control device has a housing comprising a housing section for a control unit. The housing also has a line section for the motor or transmission fluid. The line section is thermally coupled to the housing section for the control unit. Such a control device and a cooling arrangement therefore ensure that the electronic components in the control device are cooled such that a pre-determined temperature limit for the electronic components is not exceeded.

       8 . A control device for use in the engine compartment or in the transmission of a motor vehicle comprising:
 a housing including a housing section for a control unit and a line section for an engine or transmission fluid that is thermally coupled to the housing section for the control unit.   
   
   
       9 . A control device according to  claim 8 , wherein the housing comprises a base plate, at which the control device is mounted, the line section being at least formed section-wise by the base plate. 
   
   
       10 . A control device according to  claim 8 , wherein the line section is formed in two pieces with a base plate and a cover. 
   
   
       11 . A control device according to  claim 10 , wherein the base plate and/or the cover are made of aluminum, casting or plastic material. 
   
   
       12 . A cooling arrangement for a control device according to  claim 8  comprising:
 an engine or transmission fluid reservoir,   an engine or transmission fluid pump for recycling engine or transmission fluid from the engine or transmission fluid reservoir along an engine or transmission fluid circulation path,   an engine or transmission fluid supply being connected to an inlet of the line section of the control device, and   an engine or transmission fluid discharge being connected to an outlet of the line section of the control device.   
   
   
       13 . A cooling arrangement according to  claim 12 , wherein a fluid cooling device is arranged between the inlet of the line section and the engine or transmission fluid reservoir. 
   
   
       14 . A cooling arrangement according to  claim 12 , wherein oil is used as an engine or transmission fluid. 
   
   
       15 . A cooling arrangement according to  claim 14 , wherein the oil is transmission oil.
