Abstract
A novel method for producing hydrogen gas from water comprising adding water to the slag and carbonaceous flux to produce hydrogen by thermo-chemical decomposition of water.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A novel method for producing hydrogen gas from water comprising adding water to the slag and carbonaceous flux to produce hydrogen by thermo-chemical decomposition of water.
2 . The method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said slag act as heat source and wherein the deoxidizing constituents (Fe, FeO) in the slag take part 1 in the decomposition reaction.
3 . The method as claimed wherein for the decomposition f water the exothermic oxidation reaction provides additional energy nd reduces oxygen partial pressure of the system to enhance the rate f formation of hydrogen gas.
4 . A device for the production of hydrogen from water in presence of slag comprising a graphite crucible ( 1 ) containing molten slag; a reaction hood ( 2 ) disposed over said crucible; a water line for spraying water on the ,molten slag in the crucible ( 1 ); a steel tube ( 4 ) for collecting and transferring the produced hydrogen gas from said hood ( 2 ) into a condenser tank ( 7 ); the collected hydrogen gas being passed to a gas collection tank via at least one control valve ( 9 , 10 ).
5 . A device for the production of hydrogen from water comprising a movable reaction hood ( 2 ) attached to a chain-pulley block means ( 23 ), the movable reaction hood disposable on a slag pit, a water inlet line to spray water on the slag, the produced hydrogen gas being passed through a gas valve ( 6 ) into a condenser tank ( 7 ) which then leads the hydrogen gas into a collection tank ( 11 ).
6 . The device as claimed in claim 6 , comprising a gas blower ( 22 ) which is used to evacuate the air from the gas pipe line before production of hydrogen gas commences in the reaction hood ( 2 ).
7 . The device as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the water is sprayed on uniformly on the surface of the molten slag by a nozzle ( 26 ).Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
