Abstract

A subscription system and corresponding method of operation for monitoring user's well being is disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing, at a user monitor module, a first indicator for the user well being; providing, at a receiving module operably coupled to the user monitor module, a first threshold for the first indicator; receiving, at the receiving module, the first indication; comparing the first indication and the first threshold; generating a secondary indication when the comparison indicates that the first indication equals or exceeds the first threshold; receiving, at a supervisory module coupled to the receiver module, the secondary indication; and informing a supervisor that the first threshold has been reached.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for monitoring the geographic location of a first individual, the method comprising:
receiving, by a receiver device, an identifier associated with the first individual, a monitoring time, and one or more boundary variables defining a geographic area; establishing, by the receiver device, a first device based on the identifier; determining, by the receiver device, whether the first device is located outside of the geographic area during the monitoring time; and sending, by the receiver device, an alert message to a supervisor device if the first device is located outside of the geographic area during the monitoring time.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the alert message comprises a geographic location associated with the first device.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the geographic location comprises a latitude value and a longitude value.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
sending, by the receiver device, the alert message to an additional supervisor device.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the alert message is transmitted in an electronic mail message.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the supervisor device is a cellular telephone.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the supervisor device is a personal computer.

8 . The method of claim 1 , where the identifier comprises a plurality of characters indicating a first individual user name.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the boundary variables comprise geographic location value and a radius value.

10 . A method for monitoring the geographic location of a first individual from a supervisor device, the method comprising:
receiving, by the supervisor device, an identifier associated with the first individual; receiving, by the supervisor device, a monitoring time; receiving, by the supervisor device, one or more boundary variables defining a geographic area; sending, by the supervisor device, the identifier, the monitoring time, and the boundary variables to a receiver device; receiving, by the supervisor device, an alert indicating that the first individual was located outside of the geographic area during the monitoring time; and presenting, by the supervisor device, an indication of the alert on the supervisor device.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the supervisor device is a personal computer.

12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the supervisor device is a mobile phone.

13 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the alert includes an indication of a geographic location associated with the first individual.

14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the geographic location comprises a latitude value and a longitude value.

15 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the identifier comprises a plurality of characters indicating a first individual user name.

16 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the boundary variables comprise a reference to a landmark.

17 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the supervisor device is operably coupled to the receiver device via a cellular telephone network.

18 . The method of claim 10 , wherein presenting the indication comprises generating an audible, visual, or sensor alarm.

19 . A system for monitoring the geographic location of a first individual, the method comprising:
a receiver module operably coupled to a wireless device network and configured to receive an identifier associated with the first individual, a monitoring time, and one or more boundary variables defining a geographic area; a processing module configured to select a first device based on the identifier and further configured to determine whether the first device is located outside of the geographic area during the monitoring time; and a transmission module operably coupled to the wireless device network and configured to send an alert message to a supervisor device if the first device is outside of the geographic area during the monitoring time.

20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the wireless device network comprises a cellular telephone network.
