Abstract

The present invention relates to a flexible grinding product and a method of producing the same. Such a grinding product comprises a flexible underlay ( 1 ) which consists of two layers laminated to each other. These comprise a lower base layer ( 2 ) and an upper layer ( 3 ), a cavity layer. The underlay includes a top surface ( 5 ) having at least one adhesive layer ( 6 ) arranged thereto after lamination and a layer of grinding agent ( 7 ) applied by means of the adhesive layer. The grinding product is characterized in that the layer that is coated with grinding agent includes holes which form cavities ( 4 ), whereby the cavities provide space for grinding dust and grinding residues and facilitate their removal from the surface being ground.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 22 . (canceled)

       23 . A flexible grinding product comprising:
a lower base layer; an upper layer laminated to the lower base layer, the upper layer being provided with holes, the holes being present prior to the lamination; a flexible, uniform underlay consisting of the upper layer with said holes and the lower base layer, the lamination of the upper layer with holes and the lower base layer forming cavities in a top surface of the resulting laminated underlay; and a layer of grinding agent applied after the lamination by at least one adhesive layer to the top surface, wherein the at least one adhesive layer simultaneously covers and strengthens at least part of edge surfaces of the cavities; and whereby the cavities provide space for grinding dust and grinding residues and facilitate their removal from the surface being ground.

24 . A flexible grinding product according to claim 23 , wherein the upper layer is perforated.

25 . A grinding product according to claim 23 , wherein a lower side of the underlay is provided with a fastening layer.

26 . A flexible grinding product according to claim 25 , wherein the fastening layer comprises a cloth provided with fastening loops.

27 . A grinding product according to claim 25 , wherein the fastening layer comprises self-adhesive.

28 . A grinding product according to claim 23 , wherein the lower base layer of the underlay is dust permeable.

29 . A flexible grinding product according to claim 28 , wherein the base layer has a lower surface provided with fastening loops.

30 . A flexible grinding product according to claim 23 , wherein the lower base layer is provided with holes prior to coating the laminated underlay with abrasives.

31 . A flexible grinding product according to claim 30 , wherein in the lower base layer and the upper layer include holes that are distributed so that they go through the whole underlay.

32 . A flexible grinding product according to claim 31 , wherein the holes that go through the underlay are distributed substantially evenly over the underlay.

33 . A flexible grinding product according to claim 31 , wherein the holes are distributed in a recurring pattern over the underlay.

34 . A flexible grinding product according to claim 31 , wherein the holes that go through the underlay are distributed substantially randomly over the underlay.
