Abstract

An array substrate includes a pixel electrode, a thin-film transistor (TFT) and a storage line. The pixel electrode has a first electrode portion, a second electrode portion and a connecting electrode portion to electrically connect the first and second electrode portions to each other. The second electrode portion is spaced apart from the first electrode portion by a predetermined distance in a first direction. The TFT is electrically connected to the pixel electrode to drive the pixel electrode. The storage line overlaps a portion of the pixel electrode and has an asymmetric connecting electrode closer to the second electrode portion than to the first electrode portion.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 20 . (canceled)

       21 . A display panel comprising:
an array substrate comprising a pixel electrode including a first electrode portion and a second electrode portion spaced apart from the first electrode portion by an opening portion, the second electrode portion disposed at a first direction of the first electrode portion; and an opposing substrate facing the array substrate, the opposing substrate comprising a common electrode including a first domain-dividing portion which extends in a second direction different from the first direction, and the first domain-dividing portion overlapping a portion of the opening portion.

22 . The display panel of claim 1 , wherein the array substrate further comprises a storage line disposed closer to the second electrode portion than to the first electrode portion.

23 . The display panel of claim 2 , wherein each of each of the first and second electrode portions includes a cut-out portion tilted with respect to at least one of the first and second directions.

24 . The display panel of claim 3 , wherein the opening portion is substantially perpendicular to the first domain-dividing portion which extends in the second direction.

25 . The display panel of claim 2 , wherein the storage line extends in the second direction.

26 . The display panel of claim 1 , wherein each of each of the first and second electrode portions includes a cut-out portion tilted with respect to at least one of the first and second directions.

27 . The display panel of claim 6 , wherein the opening portion is substantially perpendicular to the first domain-dividing portion which extends in the second direction.

28 . The display panel of claim 1 , wherein the opening portion is substantially perpendicular to the first domain-dividing portion.

29 . The display panel of claim 8 , wherein the common electrode further comprises a second domain-dividing portion which extends in the second direction to be disposed substantially perpendicular to the first domain-diving portion.

30 . The display panel of claim 9 , wherein the first domain-dividing portion overlaps the first electrode portion, and
wherein the second domain-diving portion overlaps the second electrode portion.

31 . The display panel of claim 1 , wherein the array substrate further comprises a thin-film transistor (TFT) electrically coupled to the first electrode portion, and
wherein the pixel electrode further comprises a connecting electrode portion electrically connected the first and second electrode portions, and wherein the second electrode portion is electrically connected to the TFT through the connecting electrode portion.
