Abstract

The present invention relates to antibodies raised against fragments of apolipoprotein B, in particular defined peptides thereof, for immunization or therapeutic treatment of mammals, including humans, against ischemic cardiovascular diseases, using one or more of said antibodies.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
- 36 . (canceled)

. A peptide having a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 2, SEQ ID NO: 3, SEQ ID NO: 9, SEQ ID NO: 13, SEQ ID NO: 14, SEQ ID NO: 16, SEQ ID NO: 17, SEQ ID NO: 32 and SEQ ID NO: 38, or an immunologically active site thereof.

. The peptide or immunologically active site of claim 37 , wherein the peptide is a hapten of an aldehyde.

. The peptide or immunologically active site of claim 38 , wherein the peptide is modified using malone dialdehyde or hydroxynonenal.

. The peptide or immunologically active site of claim 37 , in an oxidized form.

. The peptide or immunologically active site of claim 37 , wherein the peptide has been oxidized using copper.

. A composition comprising the peptide or the immunologically active site of claim 37 , and phospholipid liposomes.

. A malone dialdehyde (MDA) derivative of the peptide or the immunologically active site of claim 37 .

. A pharmaceutical preparation comprising the peptide or the immunologically active site of claim 37 together with a pharmaceutically acceptable fillers and/or adjuvant.

. The pharmaceutical preparation of claim 44 , wherein the peptide or immunologically active site is linked to cationized bovine serum albumin, and wherein the preparation comprises aluminum hydroxide as an adjuvant.

. The pharmaceutical preparation of claim 45 , wherein the preparation is injectable.

. A vaccine for immunization of mammals against ischemic cardiovascular diseases, said vaccine comprising the peptide or the immunologically active site of claim 37 , optionally in combination with an adjuvant.

. The vaccine of claim 47 , wherein the peptide is linked to cationized bovine serum albumin, said vaccine comprising aluminum hydroxide as an adjuvant.

. The vaccine of claim 47 , wherein the peptide is a hapten of an aldehyde.

. The vaccine of claim 47 , wherein the peptide is modified using malone dialdehyde or hydroxynonenal.

. The vaccine of claim 47 , wherein the peptide or immunologically active site thereof is in an oxidized form.

. The vaccine of claim 47 , wherein the mammal is a human.
