Casino board game of three-dice football

Abstract

A board game simulates competitive events and terminology. The game is played by: a player placing at least one wager to play in the wagering game; casting three dice to generate a random event, the three dice consisting of two dice whose exposed numbers are used to define a numeric result, and the third die used to characterize that numeric result in event result tables; comparing the random event of the casting of the three dice with the game table to determine wagering or game events from the random event; and resolving wins or losses based upon the random event; moving a game piece in a continuing of the wagering game; or both resolving wins or losses based upon the random event and moving a game piece in a continuing of the wagering game.

1 . A board competition game comprising the steps of:
 a player taking at least one gaming piece to move on a board, and selecting one of two teams to play in the board game;   casting three dice to generate a random event, the three dice consisting of two dice whose exposed numbers are used to define a numeric result, and the third die used to characterize that numeric result in event result tables that move the game piece on the board;   comparing the random event of the casting of the three dice with the result tables to determine game events from the random event; and   resolving game events from the table by moving the game piece on the game board, and moving a game piece in a continuation of the wagering game with additional casting of the three dice at least until a scoring event occurs or an end of possession outcome occurs where possession of the game piece changes to another player; and   after a scoring event occurs using the three dice to generate a random event, awarding points to the player.   
   
   
       2 . The board game of  claim 1  wherein the two dice have six faces and each face has a number indicator of only one of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or six thereon, and each of the six faces has a different number indicator thereon. 
   
   
       3 . The board game of  claim 1  wherein the third die has a visual appearance distinguishing the third die from the two dice. 
   
   
       4 . The board game of  claim 2  wherein the third die has a visual appearance distinguishing the third die from the two dice. 
   
   
       5 . The board game of  claim 1  wherein the third die has six faces and each face has a number indicator of only one of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or six thereon, and each of the six faces has a different number indicator thereon. 
   
   
       6 . The board game of  claim 3  wherein the third die has six faces and each face has a number indicator of only one of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or six thereon, and each of the six faces has a different number indicator thereon. 
   
   
       7 . The board game of  claim 4  wherein the third die has six faces and each face has a number indicator of only one of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or six thereon, and each of the six faces has a different number indicator thereon. 
   
   
       8 . The board game of  claim 3  wherein a surface is used to move a game piece an amount related to the numeric total of the two dice and a score card associated with the numeric result by a random outcome on the third die according to rules of play of the game. 
   
   
       9 . The board game of  claim 4  wherein a surface is used to move a game piece an amount related to the numeric total of the two dice and a score card associated to the numeric result by a random outcome on the third die according to rules of play of the game. 
   
   
       10 . The board game of  claim 6  wherein a surface is used to move a game piece an amount related to the numeric total of the two dice and an event outcome table associated to the numeric result by a random outcome on the third die according to rules of play of the game. 
   
   
       11 . The board game of  claim 10  wherein the surface has markings and words relating the wagering game to a sporting event. 
   
   
       12 . The board game of  claim 11  wherein the sporting event is American Football. 
   
   
       13 . The board game of  claim 12  wherein the event outcome table is separate from a score card and identifies at least touchdowns, distance of ball movement and penalties according to the combination of numerical result from the two dice and the specific results associated with displayed symbology on the third die.

       15 . The board game of  claim 13  wherein after a touchdown occurs in the wagering game, at least one die is recast to determine if an extra point wagering event is achieved. 
   
   
       16 . The board game of  claim 13  wherein proposition wagers may be placed on at least one proposition wager event determined by the casting of the three dice selected from the group consisting of a) a one-roll touchdown; b) a one-roll turnover; c) a one roll penalty; and d) a one roll specific yardage result. 
   
   
       17 . The board game of  claim 14  wherein proposition wagers may be placed on at least one proposition wager event determined by the casting of the three dice selected from the group consisting of a) a one-roll touchdown; b) a one-roll turnover; c) a one roll penalty; and d) a one roll specific yardage result. 
   
   
       18 . A game system for playing the wagering game of  claim 1  comprising:
 a game board having an upper surface with indicia thereon indicating distances and positions for moving the game piece;   the game piece for placement on the upper surface; and   three dice, the three dice comprising two dice for defining the numeric result and a third die that is visually distinguishable from the two dice for characterizing that numeric result in event result tables.   
   
   
       19 . The game system of  claim 18  wherein the indicia represent field position on an American Football playing field and betting areas are provided for placing wagers on at least one of touchdowns, first downs, penalties, turnovers, no touchdowns, and no first downs. 
   
   
       20 . The game system of  claim 19  wherein the three dice are physical dice or virtual dice represented on a display and casting results are provided by a random number generator in a processor in a game device with the display.
