Payment application framework

Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention provide a payment application framework. In an example embodiment, a request at a payment facilitator is received. The request may comprise a list of receiving parties and an indication of an amount to transfer to each of the receiving parties. A transfer of a single payment from an account of a sender to respective accounts of the receiving parties based on the request may then be processed.

1 . A method comprising:
 receiving a request at a payment facilitator, the request including a list of receiving parties and an indication of an amount to transfer to each of the receiving parties; and   causing, using one or more processors, a transfer of a single payment from an account of a sender to respective accounts of the receiving parties based on the request.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising receiving a further request to transfer funds from a further account into the account of the sender, wherein the further request and the transfer of the funds occur prior to the receiving of the request. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the indication of the amount identifies a portion of the single payment. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the causing of the transfer comprises causing a reallocation of value from the account of the sender to the respective accounts of the receiving parties. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the causing of the transfer comprises causing a transfer of information associated with the transfer of funds. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the causing of the transfer comprises causes a transfer of the single payment to an account of a primary receiving party of the receiving parties. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , further comprising causing a transfer of a portion of the single payment from the account of the primary receiving party to at least one account of a secondary receiving party of the receiving parties. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the causing of the transfer comprises causing a transfer of the single payment to two or more of the respective accounts of the receiving parties in parallel. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the receiving of the request is via an Application Program Interface (API). 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the request further comprises information about the sender. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the request further comprises identification of at least one currency. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the request further comprises information on a transaction fee. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the causing of the transfer comprises causing a transfer of the single payment to a second payment facilitator to distribute the single payment to the respective accounts of the receiving parties. 
     
     
         14 . A machine-readable storage medium in communication with at least one processor, the machine-readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, provides a method comprising:
 receiving a list of receiving parties and an amount for each of the receiving parties; and   causing, using one or more processors, a transfer funds from an account of a sender to respective accounts of the receiving parties based on the list of the receiving parties and the amount for each of the receiving parties.   
     
     
         15 . The machine-readable storage medium of  claim 14 , wherein the method further comprises receiving a further request to transfer funds from a further account into the account of the sender, wherein the further request and the transfer of the funds occur prior to the receiving of the request. 
     
     
         16 . The machine-readable storage medium of  claim 14 , wherein the causing of the transfer comprises causing a reallocation of value from the account of the sender to the respective accounts of the receiving parties. 
     
     
         17 . The machine-readable storage medium of  claim 14 , wherein the causing of the transfer comprises causing a transfer of information associated with the transfer of funds. 
     
     
         18 . The machine-readable storage medium of  claim 14 , wherein the causing of the transfer comprises causes a transfer of the single payment to an account of a primary receiving party of the receiving parties. 
     
     
         19 . The machine-readable storage medium of  claim 18 , wherein the method further comprises causing a transfer of a portion of the single payment from the account of the primary receiving party to at least one account of a secondary receiving party of the receiving parties. 
     
     
         20 . The machine-readable storage medium of  claim 14 , wherein the receiving of the request is via an Application Program Interface (API).
