Abstract
Computer-based systems and methods for an advertisement displayed on a fixed position on a web browser window displaying a visible portion of a web page. The fixed position advertisement remains in its fixed position in view of the user as the user scrolls the web page in various directions. The advertisement may be sized, shaped, or formatted based on the available space on the web page and on the content of the advertisement. The advertisement may include a variety of static and dynamic content, including interaction prompts and other elements, which may enable an engagement-based revenue generation model.

An interactive advertisement for presentation to a user of a computer, comprising an initial advertisement including a set of media assets and a set of engagement devices that encourage the user to interact with the initial advertisement, the initial advertisement being displayed on a display of the computer and positioned in a fixed position on a browser window displayed on the display, the browser window displaying at least a portion of a web page and the initial advertisement remaining in the fixed position and in view of the user as the user scrolls the portion of the web page and the set of media assets displayed within the browser window.
2 . The interactive advertisement as recited in claim 1 , wherein the fixed position is determined based on a set of user information collected from the user.
3 . The interactive advertisement as recited in claim 2 , wherein the set of user information includes demographic information.
4 . The interactive advertisement as recited in claim 2 , wherein the set of user information includes documented usage patterns.
5 . The interactive advertisement as recited in claim 4 , wherein the documented usage pattern includes a browser window position rate of interaction.
6 . The interactive advertisement as recited in claim 5 , wherein the browser window position encompasses an entire width of the browser window.
7 . The interactive advertisement as recited in claim 5 , wherein the browser window position encompasses a fraction of a width of the browser window.
8 . The interactive advertisement as recited in claim 1 , wherein the fixed position is determined based on a set of web page information collected from the web page.
9 . The interactive advertisement as recited in claim 8 , wherein the set of web page information includes a determination of whether the web page includes a toolbar and a toolbar location.
10 . The interactive advertisement as recited in claim 1 , wherein the set of media assets flow around the fixed position as the user scrolls the portion of the web page and the set of media assets.
11 . The interactive advertisement as recited in claim 1 , wherein the set of media assets flow under the fixed position as the user scrolls the portion of the web page and the set of media assets.
12 . The interactive advertisement as recited in claim 1 , wherein the initial advertisement has a size and a shape based on the media assets.
13 . The interactive advertisement as recited in claim 1 , wherein the initial advertisement has a size and a shape based on space available within the web page.
14 . An advertisement for presentation to a user of a computer, comprising a set of media assets, the advertisement being displayed on a display of the computer and positioned in a fixed position on a browser window displayed on the display, the browser window displaying at least a portion of a web page, and the advertisement remaining in the fixed position and in view of the user as the user scrolls the portion of the web page.
15 . The advertisement as recited in claim 14 , wherein the fixed position is determined based on a set of user information collected from the user.
