Abstract
A guide vane for a compressor with an airfoil, and a base plate for mounting the guide vane to a compressor casing is provided. The base plate includes an air duct sized and configured to guide compressor air off the airfoil through the air duct. Further disclosed is a guide vane arrangement.

19 . A guide vane for a compressor, comprising:
an airfoil; a base plate for mounting the guide vane to a compressor casing; and a spindle connected to the base plate and facing away from the airfoil, the air duct extending from the base plate through the spindle, wherein the base plate includes an air duct sized and configured to guide compressor air off the airfoil through the air duct, and wherein the air duct includes an inlet opening arranged in the base plate;
20 . The guide vane as claimed in claim 19 , wherein the guide vane is a variable guide vane, pivotable about the spindle.
21 . the guide vane as claimed in claim 19 , wherein the guide vane includes only one inlet opening arranged in the base plate.
22 . The guide vane as claimed in claim 19 , wherein the air duct includes at least two inlet openings arranged in the base plate on opposite sides of the airfoil.
23 . The guide vane as claimed in claim 22 , wherein the two inlet openings have different inlet opening sizes.
24 . A guide vane arrangement for an axial flow compressor, comprising:
at least two guide vanes, each guide vane, comprising:
an airfoil;
a base plate for mounting the guide vane to a compressor casing; and
a spindle connected to the base plate and facing away from the airfoil, the air duct extending from the base plate through the spindle; and
an air duct extension connected to a plurality of spindle ends of the at least two guide vanes for guiding off and gathering the compressor air of the at least two guide vanes, wherein the base plate includes an air duct sized and configured to guide compressor air off the airfoil through the air duct, and wherein the air duct includes at least two inlet openings arranged in the base plate on opposite ends of the airfoil, and wherein the at least two inlet openings include different inlet opening sizes.
25 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 24 , wherein the air duct extension terminates at a bleed manifold.
26 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 24 , wherein the air duct extension includes a flexible hose.
27 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 26 , wherein a hose adaptor is imposed on an end of the spindle to connect the flexible hose to the spindle.
28 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 27 , wherein a flatted recess is arranged in an outer surface of the hose adaptor.
29 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 28 , wherein a yoke engages the flatted recess to keep the hose adaptor from rotating or slipping off the spindle.
30 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 27 , wherein a first seal is arranged between the spindle and the hose adaptor to allow for a rotational movement of the spindle while preventing air loss off the air duct.
31 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 24 , wherein the air duct extension includes a cavity arranged in a lever.
32 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 25 , wherein the bleed manifold includes a cavity in an actuator ring.
33 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 31 , wherein the spindle extends through a first end of the lever.
34 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 33 , wherein a flow communication between the spindle and the lever is established through at an opening in the spindle.
35 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 34 , further comprising a second seal arranged between the spindle and the lever to allow for a rotational movement of the spindle while preventing air loss off the cavity.
36 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 24 , wherein the axial flow compressor is a gas turbine engine compressor.
37 . The guide vane arrangement as claimed in claim 24 , wherein the guide vane arrangement is a variable inlet guide vane arrangement for a gas turbine engine compressor.Cited by (0)
