Abstract
The present invention provides isolated nucleic acid sequences and expression vectors encoding the Goodpasture antigen binding protein (GPBP), substantially purified GPBP, antibodies against GPBP, and methods for detecting GPBP.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An isolated nucleic acid sequence comprising a sequence substantially similar to a nucleic acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:1, SEQ ID NO:3, SEQ ID NO:5, SEQ ID NO:7, SEQ ID NO:9, SEQ ID NO:11, SEQ ID NO:13, SEQ ID NO:15, SEQ ID NO:17, SEQ ID NO:19, SEQ ID NO:21, SEQ ID NO:23, and SEQ ID NO:25.
2 . A recombinant expression vector comprising the isolated nucleic acid sequence of claim 1 .
3 . A host cell transfected with the recombinant expression vector of claim 2 .
4 . A substantially purified polypeptide, comprising an amino acid sequence substantially similar to a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:2, SEQ ID NO:4, SEQ ID NO:6, SEQ ID NO:8, SEQ ID NO:10, SEQ ID NO:12, SEQ ID NO:14, SEQ ID NO:16, SEQ ID NO:18, SEQ ID NO:20, SEQ ID NO:22, SEQ ID NO:24, or peptide fragments thereof.
5 . An antibody that selectively binds to the substantially purified protein or polypeptide of claim 4 .
6 . A method for detecting the presence of a protein that is substantially similar to a protein selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:2, SEQ ID NO:4, SEQ ID NO:6, SEQ ID NO:8, SEQ ID NO:10, SEQ ID NO:12, SEQ ID NO:14, SEQ ID NO:16, SEQ ID NO:18, SEQ ID NO:20, SEQ ID NO:22, SEQ ID NO:24, comprising
a) providing a protein sample to be screened; b) contacting the protein sample to be screened with the antibody of claim 5 under conditions that promote antibody-antigen complex formation; and c) detecting the formation of antibody-antigen complexes, wherein the presence of the antibody-antigen complex indicates the presence of a protein that is substantially similar to a protein selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:2, SEQ ID NO:4, SEQ ID NO:6, SEQ ID NO:8, SEQ ID NO:10, SEQ ID NO:12, SEQ ID NO:14, SEQ ID NO:16, SEQ ID NO:18, SEQ ID NO:20, SEQ ID NO:22, SEQ ID NO:24.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the method is used to detect an autoimmune condition in a patient.
8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the method is used to detect cells undergoing apoptosis or cancer transformation in a patient.
9 . A method for detecting in a sample a sequence that is substantially similar to a nucleic acid selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:1, SEQ ID NO:3, SEQ ID NO:5, SEQ ID NO:7, SEQ ID NO:9, SEQ ID NO:11, SEQ ID NO:13, SEQ ID NO:15, SEQ ID NO:17, SEQ ID NO:19, SEQ ID NO:21, SEQ ID NO:23, or SEQ ID NO:25, comprising contacting the sample with the isolated nucleic acid of claim 1 , or fragments thereof, and detecting complex formation, wherein complex formation indicates the presence in the sample of the sequence that is substantially similar to a nucleic acid selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:1, SEQ ID NO:3, SEQ ID NO:5, SEQ ID NO:7, SEQ ID NO:9, SEQ ID NO:11, SEQ ID NO:13, SEQ ID NO:15, SEQ ID NO:17, SEQ ID NO:19, SEQ ID NO:21, SEQ ID NO:23, or SEQ ID NO:25.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the method is used to detect an autoimmune condition in a patient.
11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the method is used to detect cells undergoing apoptosis or cancer transformation in a patient.
12 . A method for treating a patient with an autoimmune disorder and/or a tumor, comprising modifying the expression or activity of GPBP, GPBPΔ26, or a protein comprising a polypeptide substantially similarly to GPBPpep1 in the patient with the autoimmune disorder and/or tumor.Cited by (0)
