Abstract

Living cellular material is encapsulated or placed in a protective material (cell protector) which is biocompatible, biodegradable and has a three-dimensional form. The three dimensional form is incorporated into a matrix that maybe implanted in vivo, ultimately degrade and thereby by replaced by living cell generated material.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method of making an implant material for implantation of living cells comprising the steps of:
 (a) forming a mixture of at least one species of living cells substantially contained in a biocompatible and biodegradable three dimensional cavity construction, said cavity construction at least in part contained in a carrier matrix which is biocompatible in vivo and with the cavity construction material which is biogradeable; and (b) implanting the mixture in vivo.
