Abstract
Closed pouch comprising a wall defining an enclosed space containing carbon dioxide, and a pair of syringes contained within the enclosed space. The syringes are connected together by a syringe connector, and of the syringes contains a gas or gas mixture other than air, while the other contains a foamable liquid. Breakage of the syringe, connector and pumping of the syringes produces a foam useful in the treatment of varicose veins.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 12 . (canceled)
13 . A closed pouch comprising:
a wall defining an enclosed space containing carbon dioxide; and a pair of syringes contained within said enclosed space, said syringes being connected together by a syringe connector, one of said syringes containing a gas or gas mixture other than air and the other of said syringes containing a foamable liquid.
14 . A pouch as claimed in claim 13 wherein said wall comprises a metalized plastics laminate.
15 . A pouch as claimed in claim 13 wherein the gas or gas mixture consists substantially of oxygen, carbon dioxide or a mixture thereof.
16 . A vessel as claimed in claim 13 wherein the foamable liquid is a sclerosant liquid solution.
17 . A vessel as claimed in claim 16 wherein the foamable liquid is a 1% solution of polidocanol.
18 . A pouch as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the wall is hermetically sealed.
19 . A pouch as claimed in claim 13 wherein the contents of the pouch are sterile.
20 . A pouch as claimed in claim 13 wherein the pressure of the carbon dioxide in the enclosed space is 1.1 bar absolute.
21 . A closed pouch comprising:
a wall defining an enclosed space containing carbon dioxide; and a double plunger syringe contained within said enclosed space, said syringe containing a gas or gas mixture other than air and a foamable liquid.
22 . Method of producing a foam using a pouch as claimed in claim 13 , comprising breaking said syringe connector and pumping the syringes to produce a foam.
23 . Method as claimed in claim 22 wherein said pumping is performed manually or by using a machine.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
