Abstract
A mobile terminal including a housing having a front surface, a back surface and lateral surfaces; a display disposed on the front surface of the housing and configured to display information; a physical key button disposed on the front surface of the housing, said physical key button configured to receive an input; a communication unit configured to wirelessly communicate with an external terminal; and a control unit configured to control the external terminal to display an image of the mobile terminal on a display of the external terminal, when the communication unit is wirelessly communicating with the external terminal. Further, the control unit is further configured to control the external terminal to display the image of the mobile terminal with a same shape and size of the mobile terminal, and to include the physical key button and the information displayed on the display of the mobile terminal, and the control unit is further configured to control the external terminal to update the image of the mobile terminal displayed on the display of the external terminal with the information displayed on the display of the mobile terminal in real time, and not to update the physical key button displayed on the display of the external terminal in real time.

a housing having a front surface, a back surface and lateral surfaces; a display disposed on the front surface of the housing and configured to display information; a physical key button disposed on the front surface of the housing, said physical key button configured to receive an input; a communication unit configured to wirelessly communicate with an external terminal; and a control unit configured to control the external terminal to display an image of the mobile terminal on a display of the external terminal, when the communication unit is wirelessly communicating with the external terminal, wherein the control unit is further configured to control the external terminal to display the image of the mobile terminal with a same shape and size of the mobile terminal, and to include the physical key button and the information displayed on the display of the mobile terminal, and wherein the control unit is further configured to control the external terminal to update the image of the mobile terminal displayed on the display of the external terminal with the information displayed on the display of the mobile terminal in real time, and not to update the physical key button displayed on the display of the external terminal in real time.
2 . The mobile terminal of claim 1 , wherein the display and the physical key button of the mobile terminal are arranged on the front surface of the housing in a specific arrangement, and
wherein the control unit is further configured to control the external terminal to display the image of the display and the physical key button of the mobile terminal by the same specific arrangement.
3 . The mobile terminal of claim 1 , wherein the image of the mobile terminal displayed on the external terminal includes an image of the front surface of the housing.
4 . The mobile terminal of claim 3 , wherein the control unit is further configured to transmit the image of the front surface of the housing to the external terminal.
5 . The mobile terminal of claim 1 , wherein the control unit is further configured to adjust a display brightness of the display to a predetermined brightness, when the communication unit is first wirelessly communicating with the external terminal, and
wherein the control unit is further configured to turn off the display or to reduce the display brightness of the display to a level equal to or lower than the predetermined brightness, when the communication unit is no longer wirelessly communicating with the external terminal.
6 . The mobile terminal of claim 1 , further comprising:
an input unit having a backlight unit configured to apply light to the input unit, wherein the control unit is further configured to adjust a brightness of the backlight unit to a predetermined brightness, when the communication unit is first wirelessly communicating with the external terminal, and wherein the control unit is further configured to turn off the backlight unit or to adjust the brightness of the backlight unit to a level equal to or lower than the predetermined brightness, when the communication unit is no longer wirelessly communicating with the external terminal.
7 . The mobile terminal of claim 1 , further comprising:
a sensing unit configured to detect an orientation of the mobile terminal, wherein the control unit is further configured to transmit information to the external terminal about the detected orientation so as control the external terminal to display the image of the mobile terminal in accordance with the detected orientation of the mobile terminal.
8 . The mobile terminal of claim 1 , wherein the mobile terminal is a cell phone and the external terminal is a standalone computer or a laptop.
9 . A terminal, comprising:
a communication unit configured to wirelessly communicate with a first mobile terminal, said first mobile terminal including a housing having a front surface, a back surface and lateral surfaces; a display disposed on the front surface of the housing and configured to display information; and a physical key button disposed on the front surface of the housing, said physical key button configured to receive an input; a display; and a control unit configured to control the display to display an image of the first mobile terminal, when the communication unit is wirelessly communicating with the first mobile terminal, wherein the control unit is further configured to display the image of the first mobile terminal with a same shape and size of the first mobile terminal and to include the physical key button and the information displayed on the display of the first mobile terminal, and wherein the control unit is further configured to update the displayed image of the first mobile terminal with the information displayed on the display of the first mobile terminal in real time, and not to update the displayed physical key button in real time.
10 . The terminal of claim 9 , wherein when the physical key button is selected, the control unit is further configured to execute a function associated with the physical key button and to control the display of the terminal to update the information on the display according to the executed function.
11 . The terminal of claim 9 , wherein the communication unit is further configured to control the communication unit to wirelessly communicate with a second mobile terminal, said second mobile terminal including a housing having a front surface, a back surface and lateral surfaces; a display disposed on the front surface of the housing and configured to display information; and a physical key button disposed on the front surface of the housing, said physical key button configured to receive an input,
wherein the control unit is further configured to display the image of the second mobile terminal with a same shape and size of the second mobile terminal and to include the physical key button and the information displayed on the display of the second mobile terminal, and wherein the control unit is further configured to update the displayed image of the second mobile terminal with the information displayed on the display of the second mobile terminal in real time, and not to update the displayed physical key button in real time.
12 . The terminal of claim 11 , wherein the control unit is further configured to control the display to display the images of the first and second terminals side by side.
13 . The terminal of claim 11 , wherein the display and the physical key button of the first mobile terminal are arranged on the first surface of the housing in a specific arrangement, and
wherein the control unit is further configured to control the external terminal to display the image of the display and the physical key button of the first mobile terminal by the same specific arrangement.
14 . The terminal of claim 9 , wherein the control unit is further configured to display the image of the first mobile terminal in accordance with a detected orientation of the first mobile terminal.
15 . The terminal of claim 9 , wherein the first mobile terminal is a cell phone and the terminal is a standalone computer or a laptop computer.
16 . A method of controlling a mobile terminal including a housing having a front surface, a back surface and lateral surfaces; a display disposed on the front surface of the housing and configured to display information; and a physical key button disposed on the front surface of the housing, said physical key button configured to receive an input, the method comprising:
wirelessly communicating, via a wireless communication unit, with an external terminal; controlling, via a control unit, the external terminal to display an image of the mobile terminal on a display of the external terminal, when the communication unit is wirelessly communicating with the external terminal; controlling, via the control unit, the external terminal to display the image of the mobile terminal with a same shape and size of the mobile terminal, and to include the physical key button and the information displayed on the display of the mobile terminal, and controlling, via the control unit, the external terminal to update the image of the mobile terminal displayed on the display of the external terminal with the information displayed on the display of the mobile terminal in real time, and not to update the physical key button displayed on the display of the external terminal in real time.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the display and the physical key button of the mobile terminal are arranged on the front surface of the housing in a specific arrangement, and
wherein the method further comprises controlling the external terminal to display the image of the display and the physical key button of the mobile terminal by the same specific arrangement.
18 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising:
adjusting, via the control unit, a display brightness of the display to a predetermined brightness, when the communication unit is first wirelessly communicating with the external terminal, and turning off the display unit or reducing the display brightness of the display, via the control unit, to a level equal to or lower than the predetermined brightness, when the communication unit is no longer wirelessly communicating with the external terminal.
19 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising:
applying light to an input unit via a backlight unit; adjusting, via the control unit, a brightness of the backlight unit to a predetermined brightness, when the communication unit is first wirelessly communicating with the external terminal; and turning off the backlight unit or adjusting the brightness of the backlight unit, via the control unit, to a level equal to or lower than the predetermined brightness, when the communication unit is no longer wirelessly communicating with the external terminal.
20 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising:
detecting, via a sensing unit, an orientation of the mobile terminal; transmitting, via the wireless communication unit, information to the external terminal about the detected orientation so as control the external terminal to display the image of the mobile terminal in accordance with the detected orientation of the mobile terminal.Cited by (0)
