Abstract

A tire is provided having a pitch sequence designed from this method. The pitch ratios are unevenly spaced. An exemplary tire has five pitch ratios of 1.00, 1.10, 1.25, 1.4, and 1.50.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A tire comprising:
a body having a tread that has a pitch sequence; and the pitch sequence having five different size pitches with pitch ratios of 1.00, 1.10, 1.25, 1.4, and 1.50.

2 . The tire of claim 1 , wherein the pitch sequence includes 53 to 80 pitches.

         3 . A tire comprising:
a body having a tread that has a pitch sequence; the pitch sequence having five different size pitches with first, second, third, fourth, and fifth pitch ratios with the first pitch ratio being 1.00 and the third pitch ratio being 1.25 and the fifth pitch ratio being 1.50; the second pitch ratio being less greater than 1.00 and less than 1.125; and the fourth pitch ratio being greater than 1.375 and less than 1.50.

4 . The tire of claim 3 , wherein the pitch sequence includes 53 to 80 pitches.

         5 . A tire comprising:
a body having a tread that has a pitch sequence; the pitch sequence having five different size pitches with first, second, third, fourth, and fifth pitch ratios with the difference between the second pitch ratio and the first pitch ratio being less than the difference between the third pitch ratio and the second pitch ratio; and the difference between the fifth pitch ratio and the fourth pitch ratio being less than the difference between the fourth pitch ratio and the third pitch ratio.

6 . The tire of claim 5 , wherein the pitch sequence includes 53 to 80 pitches.

7 . The tire of claim 6 , wherein the first pitch ratio being 1.00 and the third pitch ratio being 1.25.

8 . The tire of claim 6 , wherein the third pitch ratio is 1.25 and the fifth pitch ratio is 1.50.
