Method and apparatus for document preparation

Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods and systems for generating one or more real estate transfer and/or closing documents on a website with a set of information input by a user, using an unrelated website and/or application program. In particular, some embodiments apply such a method/system to generate one or more real-estate transfer/closing documents for a particular real-estate transaction on a website. For example, a method is disclosed for generating such documents which may include providing an application program for receiving first information from a user to post to an unrelated website. The application program may be operational on at least one of a user client computer or server computer and the website preferably includes functionality for generating one or more documents for a particular real-estate transaction. Moreover, the one or more documents preferably include at least a portion of the first information and the first information preferably include information directly related to the particular real-estate transaction. The method preferably also includes automatically generating the one or more real-estate transfer documents on the website using the application program.

1 . A method for generating one or more real-estate transfer documents for a particular real-estate transaction, the method comprising:
 providing an application program for receiving first information input from a user to post to an unrelated website, wherein:
 the application program may be operational on at least one of a user client computer or server computer, 
 the website includes functionality for generating one or more documents for a particular real-estate transaction, 
 the one or more documents including at least a portion of the first information; and 
 the first information comprises information directly related to the particular real-estate transaction; and 
   automatically generating the one or more real-estate transfer documents on the website using the application program.   
     
     
         2 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the automatic generation of the one or more real estate documents comprises the application program opening at least one or more URLs associated with the website, each URL being associated with a particular task for generating the one or more documents on the website. 
     
     
         3 . The method according to  claim 2 , further comprising the application program posting at least a portion of the first information to each opened URL and receiving a response to each posting. 
     
     
         4 . The method according to  claim 3 , wherein each posting comprises an http query. 
     
     
         5 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the one or more documents comprise tax documents for the particular real-estate transaction. 
     
     
         6 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the application program includes one or more application program interfaces (API) for posting information to each of the opened URLs to generate the one or more real-estate transfer documents. 
     
     
         7 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the application program comprises a first website, unrelated to the website for generating the one or more real-estate documents. 
     
     
         8 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising at least one of storing the at least one generated documents. 
     
     
         9 . The method according to  claim 2 , wherein the at least one document is stored at the user's computer. 
     
     
         10 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising the application program automatically determining the necessary real estate transfer documents to be generated based on the first information input by the user.

         25 . A system for generating one or more real-estate transfer documents for a particular real-estate transaction, the system comprising:
 an application program for receiving first information from a user to post to an unrelated website, wherein:
 the application program may be operational on at least one of a user client computer or server computer, 
 the website includes functionality for generating one or more documents for a particular real-estate transaction, 
 the one or more documents including at least a portion of the first information; and 
 the first information comprises information directly related to the particular real-estate transaction; and 
   generating means for automatically generating the one or more real-estate transfer documents on the website using the application program.   
     
     
         26 . The system according to  claim 25 , wherein the generating means includes opening means for opening at least one or more URLs associated with the website, each URL being associated with a particular task for generating the one or more documents on the website. 
     
     
         27 . The system according to  claim 26 , further comprising posting means for posting at least a portion of the first information to each opened URL. 
     
     
         28 . The system according to  claim 27 , further comprising receiving means for receiving a response to each posting. 
     
     
         29 . The system according to  claim 25 , wherein the application program includes one or more application program interfaces (APIs). 
     
     
         30 . The system according to  claim 27 , wherein the posting means comprises one or more application program interfaces (APIs) operable for posting information to each of the opened URLs. 
     
     
         31 . The system according to  claim 25 , further comprising a server operating the application program. 
     
     
         32 . The system according to  claim 25 , wherein the application program automatically determining the necessary real estate transfer documents to be generated based on the first information input by the user.
