Abstract
A drop terminal mounting system includes a fiber drop terminal having a housing and a base attached to the housing. The housing includes an outer surface containing a plurality of receptacles and cooperatively defines an inner cavity with the base. The drop terminal mounting system further includes a bracket having a first fastening region and a second fastening region adapted to secure the drop terminal to the bracket.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A broadband access network comprising:
a fiber distribution hub having a re-enterable enclosure, the fiber distribution hub including:
a fiber patch panel having one or more subscriber ports;
an optical splitter disposed in the enclosure, the optical splitter including a plurality of splitter outputs;
a plurality of fibers connecting the plurality of splitter outputs to the one or more subscriber ports;
the fiber distribution hub conveying optical signals to a fiber drop terminal, the fiber drop terminal including:
an enclosure having an exterior surface;
a plurality of rugged outdoor receptacles located at the exterior surface of the enclosure, each of the receptacles including a seal proximate to an interface between the receptacle and the enclosure.
2 . The broadband access network of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of rugged outdoor receptacles of the fiber drop terminal includes a receptacle that receives a multi-fiber connector.
3 . The broadband access network of claim 1 , wherein the receptacles are disposed on a front surface of the fiber drop terminal.
4 . The broadband access network of claim 1 , wherein the fiber drop terminal includes a splitter disposed in an interior cavity of the enclosure.
5 . The broadband access network of claim 1 , wherein the enclosure of the fiber drop terminal includes a housing and a base engaged to the housing.
6 . The broadband access network of claim 5 , wherein the base is releasably attached to the housing.
7 . The broadband access network of claim 5 , wherein the fiber drop terminal includes a gasket disposed between the housing and the base.
8 . The broadband access network of claim 7 , wherein the gasket is disposed in a channel of the housing.
9 . A broadband access network comprising:
a fiber distribution hub having a re-enterable enclosure, the fiber distribution hub including:
a fiber patch panel having one or more subscriber ports;
an optical splitter disposed in the enclosure, the optical splitter including a plurality of splitter outputs;
a plurality of fiber jumpers connecting the plurality of splitter outputs to the one or more subscriber ports;
a fiber drop terminal in communication with the fiber distribution hub through multiple optical fibers, the fiber drop terminal including:
an enclosure defining an interior cavity;
a plurality of ruggedized receptacles sealingly engaged to the enclosure, each of the receptacles having a first side and a second side, the first side being accessible from an exterior of the enclosure, the second side being accessible from the interior cavity.
10 . The broadband access network of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of ruggedized receptacles of the fiber drop terminal includes a receptacle adapted to receive a multi-fiber connector.
11 . The broadband access network of claim 10 , wherein the receptacles are disposed on a front surface of the fiber drop terminal.
12 . The broadband access network of claim 9 , wherein the fiber drop terminal includes a splitter disposed in the interior cavity.
13 . The broadband access network of claim 9 , wherein the enclosure of the fiber drop terminal includes a housing and a base engaged to the housing.
14 . The broadband access network of claim 13 , wherein the base is releasably attached to the housing.
15 . The broadband access network of claim 14 , wherein the base is attached to the housing using fasteners.
16 . The broadband access network of claim 13 , wherein the fiber drop terminal includes a gasket disposed between the housing and the base.
17 . The broadband access network of claim 16 , wherein the gasket is disposed in a channel of the housing.
18 . A broadband access network comprising:
a fiber distribution hub having a re-enterable enclosure, the fiber distribution hub including:
a fiber patch panel having one or more subscriber ports;
an optical splitter disposed in the enclosure, the optical splitter including a plurality of splitter outputs;
a plurality of fiber jumpers connecting the plurality of splitter outputs to the one or more subscriber ports;
a fiber drop terminal in communication with the fiber distribution hub through multiple optical fibers, the fiber drop terminal including:
an enclosure having a housing and a base engaged to the housing, the enclosure defining an interior cavity;
a plurality of ruggedized receptacles sealingly engaged to the enclosure, each of the receptacles having a first side and a second side, the first side being accessible from an exterior of the enclosure, the second side being accessible from the interior cavity, wherein the plurality of receptacles includes a receptacle adapted to receive a multi-fiber connector.
19 . The broadband access network of claim 18 , wherein the receptacles are disposed on a front surface of the fiber drop terminal.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
