Abstract

A multiwipe package having enhanced wipe storage stability is disclosed. The wipe package contains a stack of wipes in a barrier packaging film, wherein the headspace in the package between the stack of wipes and the packaging film is minimized.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An article of manufacture comprising a plurality of wipes packaged in a barrier packaging film, said wipes comprising a defined amount of a wipe lotion comprising at least one volatile ingredient, and said article having a package width circumference ratio of less than 3.35,
wherein the defined amount of wipe lotion in each wipe remains essentially constant over the designed shelf life of the article, and wherein the width circumference ratio is calculated using a formula 100(PWC-WWC)/WWC, wherein PWC is a measure of a circumference of the packaging surrounding the plurality of wipes in the width direction neglecting sealed film areas and WWC is a measure of a circumference around the plurality of wipes in the width direction.

2 . The article of claim 1 wherein the package width circumference ratio is less than 3.25.

3 . The article of claim 1 wherein the package width circumference ratio is less than 3.

4 . The article of claim 1 wherein the package width circumference ratio is less than 2.75.

5 . The article of claim 1 wherein the package width circumference ratio is less than 2.5.

6 . The article of claim 1 wherein the barrier packaging film has a moisture vapor transport rate of less than about 1 gram/100 in 2 /day at 25°.

7 . The article of claim 1 wherein the barrier packaging film has a moisture vapor transport rate of less than about 0.1 gram/100 in 2 /day at 25°.

8 . The article of claim 1 wherein the barrier packaging film has a peel/reseal label having a moisture vapor transport rate of less than about 1.5 gram/100 in 2 /day at 25°.

9 . The article of claim 1 wherein the volatile ingredient comprises water, an alcohol, a volatile silicone, a ketone, an ester, a hydrocarbon, and mixtures thereof.

10 . The article of claim 1 wherein the wipe lotion has a rheology sufficient to resist gravity settling of the wipe lotion in the article.

11 . The article of claim 1 further comprising a nonvolatile ingredient.

12 . The article of claim 1 wherein the relative amount of volatile ingredient and nonvolatile ingredients of the wipe lotion remain essentially constant within each wipe in the package for the designed life of the wipe.

13 . The article of claim 12 wherein the nonvolatile ingredient is selected from a pesticide, a drug, a therapeutic agent, a hormone, an analgesic, an antiacne agent, a pharmaceutical, a skin conditioner, a skin protectant, a skin-soothing agent, an antioxidant, an insect repellant, a counterirritant, a vitamin, a plant extract, a steroid, an antibacterial compound, an antifungal compound, an antiinflammatory compound, a topical anesthetic, an epidermal lipid replacement, an antiaging compound, a sunscreen, a skin whitener, an optical brightener, a disinfectant, a sanitizer, a dermatitis medication, a skin disease medication, a cleanser, and mixtures thereof.

14 . The article of claim 12 wherein the nonvolatile ingredient selected from the group consisting of benzocaine, dyclonine hydrochloride, aloe vera, butamben picrate, lidocaine hydrochloride, xylocalne, providone-iodine, polymyxin b sulfate-bacitracin, zinc-neomycin sulfate-hydrocortisone, chloramphenicol, ethylbenzethonium chloride, erythromycin, lindane, benzoyl peroxide, erythromycin benzoyl peroxide, clindamycin phosphate, 5,7-dichloro-8-hydroxyquinoline, alclometasone dipropionate, betamethasone valerate, o-amino-p-toluenesulfonamide monoacetate, monobenzone, amcinonide, diflorasone diacetate, hydrocortisone, methylbenzethonium chloride, PEG-4 dilaurate, lanolin oil, petrolatum, mineral wax, butocouazole nitrate, haloprogin, clotrimazole, O-[(2-hydroxymethyl)methyl]guanine, alclometasone dipropionate, betamethasone valerate, isopropyl myristate MSD, anthralin, methoxsalen, coal tar, 2-(acetyloxy)-9-fluoro-1′,2′,3′,4′-tetrahydro-1-hydroxypregna-1,4-dieno-[16,17-b]naphthalene-3,20-dione, 21-chloro-9-fluoro-1′,2′,3′,4′-tetrahydro-11b-hydroxypregna-1,4-dieno-[16z,17-b]naphthalene-3,20-dione, allantoin, salicylic acid, isopropyl myristate, retinol, zinc pyrithione, benzophenone-3, a fragrance, glycolic acid, hyalauronic acid, hydrogen peroxide, a protein, an enzyme, an astringent, a surfactant, tocopherol and derivatives thereof, butein, hydroquinone, kojic acid, jojoba oil, an alpha or beta hydroxy acid, retinol palmitate, retinol acetate, dihydroxyacetone, arbutin, ascorbic acid and derivatives thereof, L-erythrulose, dimethicone, and mixtures thereof.
