Abstract
An information processing apparatus includes a selection unit configured to select a mode of processing to be executed when a power supply state of the information processing apparatus is shifted from a first power supply state to a second power supply state, a determination unit configured to determine time necessary for executing the processing based on the mode selected by the selection unit, an execution unit configured to execute the processing in the mode selected by the selection unit, and a control unit configured to control the execution unit to execute the processing again when the processing has not been completed within the time determined by the determination unit.

a selection unit configured to select a mode of processing to be executed when a power supply state of the information processing apparatus is shifted from a first power supply state to a second power supply state; a determination unit configured to determine time necessary for executing the processing based on the mode selected by the selection unit; an execution unit configured to execute the processing in the mode selected by the selection unit; and a control unit configured to control the execution unit to execute the processing again when the processing has not been completed within the time determined by the determination unit.
2 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the processing is startup processing when power to the information processing apparatus is started.
3 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the mode of the processing includes an initialization mode for executing initialization processing which is executed when the information processing apparatus is started up for the first time, and a normal mode which does not need to execute the initialization processing in the startup processing.
4 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein the determination unit determines the time when the initialization mode is selected by the selection unit to become longer than the time when the normal mode is selected by the selection unit.
5 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the processing is shutdown processing when power to the information processing apparatus is stopped.
6 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 5 , further comprising a storage unit configured to store data,
wherein the mode of the processing includes either a complete erasure mode for executing complete erasure of the data stored in the storage unit in the shutdown processing or a recovery mode for executing recovery of the data stored in the storage unit in the shutdown processing, and a normal mode in which the complete erasure or the recovery of the data is not executed in the shutdown processing.
7 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the determination unit determines the time when the complete erasure mode or the recovery mode is selected by the selection unit to become longer than the time when the normal mode is selected by the selection unit.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the processing is power saving processing when the information processing apparatus is shifted to a power saving state or power saving return processing when the information processing apparatus is returned from the power saving state.
9 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 8 , further comprising an image forming unit configured to form an image,
wherein the mode of the processing includes either a temperature regulation mode for executing temperature regulation of the image forming unit in the power saving processing or the power saving return processing or a calibration mode for executing calibration of the image forming unit in the power saving processing or the power saving return processing, and a normal mode in which the temperature regulation or the calibration is not executed in the power saving processing or the power saving return processing.
10 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein the determination unit determines the time when the temperature regulation mode or the calibration mode is selected by the selection unit to become longer than the time when the normal mode is selected by the selection unit.
11 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a first storage unit configured to store information that indicates the mode,
wherein the selection unit selects the mode which is indicated by the information stored in the first storage unit.
12 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a second storage unit configured to store correspondence between the mode and the time,
wherein the determination unit refers to the correspondence stored in the second storage unit to determine the time.
13 . A method for controlling an information processing apparatus, the method comprising:
selecting a mode of processing to be executed when a power supply state of the information processing apparatus is shifted from a first power supply state to a second power supply state; determining time necessary for executing the processing based on the selected mode; executing the processing in the selected mode; and performing control to execute the processing again when the processing has not been completed within the determined time.
14 . A computer-readable storage medium storing computer-executable instructions for causing an information processing apparatus to execute a method comprising:
selecting a mode of processing to be executed when a power supply state of the information processing apparatus is shifted from a first power supply state to a second power supply state; determining time necessary for executing the processing based on the selected mode; executing the processing in the selected mode; and performing control to execute the processing again when the processing has not been completed within the determined time.Cited by (0)
