Abstract
The present invention is directed to novel capsules containing active material and nanoscaled material and to methods for making capsules with enhanced performance and stability. The capsules are well suited for use in personal care applications, laundry products and perfume and fragrance products.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 21 . (canceled)
22 . A process for preparing a microcapsule product which comprises the steps of:
admixing a nanoscaled material selected from the group consisting of silica, titanium oxide, zinc oxide, hematite and mixtures thereof and a liquid fragrance oil to form a nanodispersion; reacting polymers to form a crosslinked network of polymers; encapsulating the nanodispersion with a crosslinked network of polymers to provide a polymer encapsulated product; curing the polymer encapsulated product at a temperature above 90° C. to provide a microcapsule product.
23 . The process of claim 22 wherein the polymer encapsulated product is cured for greater than 1 hour.
24 . The process of claim 22 wherein the polymer encapsulated product is cured for greater than 2 hours.
25 . The process of claim 22 wherein the polymer encapsulated product is cured at a temperature above 110° C.
26 . The process of claim 22 wherein the polymer encapsulated product is cured at a temperature above 120° C.
27 . The process of claim 22 wherein the crosslinked network of polymers is selected from a vinyl polymer, an acrylate polymer, melamine-formaldehyde, urea formaldehyde, amine-containing polymer, amine-generating polymer, aminoplasts, aldehydes, dialdehydes, active oxygen, poly-substituted carboxylic acids and derivatives, inorganic crosslinkers, organics capable of forming azo, azoxy and hydrazo bonds, lactones and lactams, thionyl chloride, phosgene, tannin/tannic acid, polyphenols, free radical crosslinkers, sodium persulfate, azoisobutylnitrile (AIBN) and mixtures thereof.
28 . The process of claim 27 wherein the crosslinked network of polymers comprises a melamine-formaldehyde: acrylamide-acrylic acid copolymer wherein the mole ratio is in the range of from 9:1 to 1:9.
29 . The capsule particle of claim 1 which is incorporated into a consumer product selected from the group consisting of detergents, fabric softeners, body washes, soaps, shampoos and hair rinses, anti-perspirants, deodorants, skin creams and hard surface cleaners.
30 . The capsule particle of claim 1 which is incorporated into a shampoo.
31 . A wash-off product comprising a microcapsule product wherein the microcapsule product comprises a liquid fragrance material and a nanoscaled material selected from the group consisting of silica, titanium oxide, zinc oxide, hematite and mixtures thereof encapsulated by a polymer selected from the group consisting of a vinyl polymer; an acrylate polymer, melamine-formaldehyde; urea formaldehyde and mixtures thereof.
32 . The wash-off product of claim 31 wherein the wash-off product is selected from the group consisting of detergents, fabric softeners, body washes, soaps, shampoos and hair rinses, anti-perspirants, deodorants, skin creams and hard surface cleaners.Cited by (0)
