Abstract
The present invention relates to a child access restricted/child safe packaged-product system. The invention further relates to child resistant closures for packaged-product. The synergistic combination of a closure means provided with engaging provisions adapted to removably receive and engage package wherein combination of multiple operations is necessary to access the product by disengaging the package from the said closure provides child access restricted/child safe packaged-product system. The system comprises of a closure means provided with engaging member/s adapted to removably receive and engage a package wherein combination of multiple operation is necessary to access the product by disengaging the package from the said closure. The package is provided with a provision to removably receive the said engaging member/s. The package is optionally provided with a uniquely identifiable information

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A child access restricted packaged-product system comprising
a closure means provided with engaging member/s adapted to removably receive and engage a package wherein combination of multiple operations is necessary to access the product by disengaging the package from the said closure; package with a provision to removably receive the said engaging member's optionally provided with a uniquely identifiable information an optional sensing means provided in the said closure to sense the presence of the package.
2 . A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 1 wherein the packaged-product system comprises of
closure comprising first sheet provided with supporting ribs, second sheet comprising two engaging members in the form of pegs on the inner surface;
package provided with slots corresponding to the said pegs, wherein profile of the slots is a combination of a straight slot parallel to one of the edges and an inclined slot corresponding to the said pegs wherein the pegs lock the package, that is restrict movement of the package wherein to access the package one has to apply pressure on the pegs wherein the said pegs upon application of the pressure spring in and align with the said straight slot of the package to disengage the package allowing it to slide out of the sheets.
3 . A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the packaged-product system comprises of
closure; package provided with an engaging provision protruding in the same plane of the package from one of the edges of the package wherein the said engaging member is substantially flat having one of the tapered edge diverting away from the edge of the package wherein out of the two edges substantially perpendicular to the said diverting edge forming an inverted L shaped lamina; the closure comprises of top sheet and bottom sheet optionally hinged together wherein the top sheet is deformed so as to form a cavity to receive the package, the said sheets are provided with openings so as to removably receive the said engaging member of the package; wherein in operation one has to first press the said engaging member of the package to disengage the package from the openings formed in the sheets followed by sliding the package to access the package and thereby product.

A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 3 wherein the said closure is provide with locking provision in the form of a cavity corresponding to the shape of the said engaging member opposite to the end of the said opening to lock the said package and restrict the movement of the said package wherein in operation one has to first press the said engaging member of the package to disengage the package from the openings formed in the sheets followed by sliding the package to access the package and thereby product.

A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 1 wherein the said sensing means is operably connected in the said provided closure in the form of a pressable switch configured with power source and audio/visual/sensory means, when the package is engaged with the said engaging member in the said closure the said pressable switch is pressed wherein upon removing the package from the said rest position at the time of consuming the product in the package, the said switch is depressed resulting in providing audio/visual/sensory indication to the user so as to remind him/her of repositioning the said package in the said closure to render child resistant state.

A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 5 wherein the said sensing means comprises of signal generating provision's, data processing means, data logging and storing means configured with a communication means an optional communication switch, a power source, optional audio signal generating means, an oscillator (Real time clock) wherein the said signal generating means gets activated upon disengaging the said package from the closure;
wherein activation of the signal generating provision is done by means such as electronic, mechanical, optical, visual wherein upon disengagement of the package from the closure, a signal from the said signal generating provision is sent to the said data processing means wherein the time & date of product dispensed is logged into the data logging provision of the said data processing means

the said logged data in the said data processing is transferred/transmitted via communication means to an external device's with the aid of RF, IRlink, wired and/or any direct contact methods such as I2C, SPI, serial or parallel communication.

A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 1 wherein the identity of the product package is verified to authenticate the same by providing the package with at least two sets of identification information comprising a first set of identification information and a second set of identification information, wherein at least one identification feature of the first set of identification information is arranged on or incorporated within a different surface, side or plane of the package, with respect to at least one identification feature of the second set of identification information, thereby adapting the package to be identified, wherein said at least one identification feature of the first set of identification information and said at least one identification feature of the second set of identification information are arranged at a fixed relative spatial position with respect to each other, said fixed relative spatial position being used to derive a signature for identifying the package
wherein one of the sets of said identification information comprises an identification layer in which, at least in part, a plurality of randomly distributed particles is present, comprising the randomly distributed particles may comprise a material that displays one or more consistently measurable physical properties, such as magnetic field strength, capacitance or conductance wherein “randomly distributed particles” includes voids, bubbles, or magnetic domains with a continuous material, or regions of varying reflectivity, or electrical properties.
8 . A child access restricted packaged-product system wherein the packaged-product system comprises of a closure means comprising first and second flexible sheets provided with protruded surfaces hinged together
wherein the first sheet comprises of a pin like provision provided on the said surface and the second sheet comprises of a provision provided corresponding to the said pin like provision of the same first sheet to removably receive the said pin like provision; the second sheet further is provided with support for the packaged-product wherein the sheets are disposed over each other so as to form a cavity because of the respective protrusions provided in the first and second sheet to receive the packaged-product wherein the disposition of the said sheets is such that when the sheets are placed over each other with the product package placed in the cavity; wherein package is provided with openings corresponding to the said pin like provisions.

10 . A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 8 wherein the packaged-product system comprises of
closure comprising first sheet provided with supporting ribs, second sheet comprising two engaging members in the form of pegs on the inner surface;
package provided with slots corresponding to the said pegs wherein profile of the slots is a combination of a straight slot parallel to one of the edges and an inclined slot corresponding to the said pegs wherein the pegs lock the package, that is restrict movement of the package wherein to access the package one has to apply pressure on the pegs wherein the said pegs upon application of the pressure spring in and align with the said straight slot of the package to disengage the package allowing it to slide out of the sheets.

A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 8 wherein a sensing means is operably connected in the said provided closure in the form of a pressable switch configured with power source and audio/visual/sensory means, when the package is engaged with the said engaging member in the said closure the said pressable switch is pressed wherein upon removing the package from the said rest position at the time of consuming the product in the package, the said switch is depressed resulting in providing audio/visual/sensory indication to the user so as to remind him/her of repositioning the said package in the said closure to render child resistant state.

A child access restricted packaged-product system wherein the package comprises of a flexible edge portion adapted to removably engage in a provision provided in the closure wherein the closure is provided with a means to lock the said package so as to restrict separation of the package from the closure at the time of product access.
13 . A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 12 wherein the packaged-product system comprises of
closure; package provided with an engaging provision protruding in the same plane of the package from one of the edges of the package wherein the said engaging member is substantially flat having one of the tapered edge diverting away from the edge of the package wherein out of the two edges substantially perpendicular to the said diverting edge forming an inverted L shaped lamina;
the closure comprises of top sheet and bottom sheet optionally hinged together wherein the top sheet is deformed so as to form a cavity to receive the package, the said sheets are provided with openings so as to removably receive the said engaging member of the package; wherein in operation one has to first press the said engaging member of the package to disengage the package from the openings formed in the sheets followed by sliding the package to access the package and thereby product.

A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 12 wherein the said sensing means is operably connected in the said provided closure in the form of a pressable switch configured with power source and audio/visual/sensory means, when the package is engaged with the said engaging member in the said closure the said pressable switch is pressed wherein upon removing the package from the said rest position at the time of consuming the product in the package, the said switch is depressed resulting in providing audio/visual/sensory indication to the user so as to remind him/her of repositioning the said package in the said closure to render child resistant state.

A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 12 wherein the said closure is provide with locking provision in the form of a cavity corresponding to the shape of the said engaging member opposite to the end of the said opening to lock the said package and restrict the movement of the said package wherein in operation one has to first press the said engaging member of the package to disengage the package from the openings formed in the sheets followed by sliding the package to access the package and thereby product.

A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 12 wherein the identity of the product package is verified to authenticate the same by providing the package with at least two sets of identification information comprising a first set of identification information and a second set of identification information, wherein at least one identification feature of the first set of identification information is arranged on or incorporated within a different surface, side or plane of the package, with respect to at least one identification feature of the second set of identification information, thereby adapting the package to be identified, wherein said at least one identification feature of the first set of identification information and said at least one identification feature of the second set of identification information are arranged at a fixed relative spatial position with respect to each other, said fixed relative spatial position being used to derive a signature for identifying the package

17 . A child access restricted packaged-product system wherein the packaged-product system comprises of closure,
package that is encased in the said closure wherein the said closure comprises of first sheet and second sheet assembly; wherein the first sheet is provided with one or plurality of profiled cuts having major and minor axis to form open portion so as to receive thermoformed portion of the blister package; wherein the package is placed between the said first and second sheet such that the said thermoformed portion is aligned with one of the ends of the major axis, end 1 of the said profiled cut wherein the package is slidable between the said two sheets upon application of shear force in the direction opposite to end 1 along the said major axis, the second sheet comprising one or plurality of perforations disposed such that they are aligned to the opposite end said end 1 of the said major axis of the said cut portions of the first sheet; package.

A child access restricted packaged-product system as claimed in claim 17 wherein the said sensing means is operably connected in the said provided closure in the form of a pressable switch configured with power source and audio/visual/sensory means, when the package is engaged with the said engaging member in the said closure the said pressable switch is pressed wherein upon removing the package from the said rest position at the time of consuming the product in the package, the said switch is depressed resulting in providing audio/visual/sensory indication to the user so as to remind him/her of repositioning the said package in the said closure to render child resistant state.

wherein there is provided a means to detect disengagement of the package from the closure to monitor and/or record of package and/or product access from the package system, wherein the package system is provided with a wired/wireless communication means capable of interacting with external/remote device/s.

A child access restricted packaged-product system wherein the package system comprises of closure in the form of a flexible pouch, package that is engaged in the said closure wherein the closure is provided with locking arrangement in the form of a flap on one of the surfaces wherein the said flap is removably attachable to the provision on the other surface of the said pouch.
22 . A child access restricted packaged-product system comprising a package;
a package closure in the form of tray like structure comprising a pivot in which the package is pivotably engaged wherein the said package is adapted to pivotally fit in the said pivot, a base in the form of a substantial flat lamina wherein package is positioned on the said base such that the rupturable portion of the package is in contact with the said base, raised portions at the edges on consecutive length and breadth of the said base wherein substantially perpendicular faces of these portions act to limit the movement of the package in one of the directions wherein the said raised portion is adapted to fit a reciprocable member wherein the said base is provided with a protruded portion below the said reciprocable member such that the package edge press fits between the said raised portion and the reciprocable member, a stopper in the form of a rotatable member at one of the corners of the base wherein the member is rotatable around the bottom portion that is attached/integrated with the base of the said closure; wherein in operation, user has to pull the said reciprocating member and further rotate the said member to disengage and rotate the package in horizontal plan substantially parallel to the said base around pivot wherein the package slides over the said base and is in a position wherein user can access the product.Cited by (0)
