Claims

Abstract

This communicator makes it possible for the user to do telephone, facsimile, and data communication at any location. On a pen input device, a space eye 2 , a telephone control system, a facsimile control system, and a data transmission system are mounted. All of them are operated by an input pen 55 or the space eye 2 . The pen input device is connected to a wireless telephone equipment 7 , and can be connected to a desired party through the public communication channel. In order to make the most of the equipment of a GPS user, the GPS user device 8 is connected to the pen input device 3 . The current location of the GPS user is found through the GPS user device 8 , and the data on the current location is transmitted to the party. Further, to make this communicator usable in any country, it is provided with means to connect it to a wireless telephone network of an individual service area of the country.

1 . A portable wireless telephone apparatus comprising:
 a wireless communication device that is capable of wireless connection to a communication channel and capable of conducting transmission or reception of voice signals, and data signals through the communication channel;   a microphone that is capable of generating voice signals to be transmitted by the wireless communication device;   a speaker that is capable of generating audio signals based upon voice signals received by the wireless communication device;   a CPU that is capable of outputting control commands to the wireless communication device, processing the data signals received from the communication channel through the wireless communication device, and supplying the data signals to be transmitted to the communication channel through the wireless communication device;   a global positioning system receiver device that is capable of receiving a signal and determining position information based on the signal;   a map information reader device that is capable of processing map information and the position information and capable of creating a map based on a combination of the position information and the map information;   a display device that is capable of displaying the map created by the map information reader device;   a navigator device that is capable of navigating a user by use of the position information received by the global positioning system receiver device and the map information processed by the map information reader device;   a transmission selector device that, when a destination is selected, is capable of conducting a transmission by the wireless communication device through the communication channel to the selected destination; and   a document data input device capable of inputting document data, wherein the display device is capable of superposingly displaying the map information processed by the map information reader device and the document data entered by the document data input device.   
     
     
         2 . A portable wireless telephone apparatus comprising:
 a wireless communication device that is capable of wirelessly connecting to a communication channel and is capable of sending a transmission or receiving a reception through the communication channel;   a CPU that is capable of outputting control commands to the wireless communication channel through the wireless communication device, is capable of entering data received from the communication channel through the wireless communication device, or is capable of transmitting data to the communication channel through the wireless communication device;   a global positioning system receiver device that is capable of receiving a signal and calculating position information based on the received signal;   a reply setting device that is capable of setting whether to accept a transmission request for the position information from another portable wireless telephone apparatus; and   a return information device that is capable of returning the position information upon receipt of the transmission request when the transmission request is set to be accepted by the reply setting device.   
     
     
         3 . The portable wireless telephone apparatus according to  claim 2 , wherein the reply setting device includes a flag setting unit capable of setting an automatic reply call flag when the transmission request includes an automatic reply call, and capable of accepting the transmission request when the flag is set by the flag setting unit. 
     
     
         4 . The portable wireless telephone apparatus according to  claim 2 , further comprising:
 a transmission selector service that, when a destination is selected, is capable of conducting a transmission to the selected destination; and   a map information transmitter device that, during communication with the destination selected by the transmission selector device, is capable of reading map information relating to a map around position coordinates from previously determined map data based on the position information, and transmitting the map information to the destination.   
     
     
         5 . The portable wireless telephone apparatus according to  claim 2 , further comprising;
 a display having a first portion and a second portion that show images sent by the CPU;   a reception determination device that is capable of determining a reception status, wherein the display is capable of showing the reception status on the second portion; and   a map information display device that is capable of reading map information relating to a map around position coordinates from the previously registered map data based on the position information, and displaying the read map information on the first portion.   
     
     
         6 . A portable wireless apparatus comprising:
 a wireless communication device that is configured to wirelessly connect to a communication channel and conduct transmission or reception of data signals through the communication channel;   a global positioning system receiver device that is configured to receive a signal and determine position information based on the received signal;   a map information reader device that is configured to process map information, the position information, and target position information, and is capable of creating a map based on a combination of the position information, the target position information, and the map information, wherein the map information reader device is configured to generate map information based on data signals from a remote database that are received by the wireless communication device from the communication channel, further wherein a present position is determined and shown on the display device based on the position information, further wherein a target position is calculated and shown on the display device based on the target position information; and   a display device that is configured to display the map created by the map information reader device.   
     
     
         7 . The portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 6 , wherein the map information reader device is further configured to generate map information based on stored map data. 
     
     
         8 . A portable wireless apparatus comprising:
 a wireless communication device that is capable of wirelessly connecting to a communication channel and conduct transmission or reception of data signals through the communication channel;   a CPU that is configured to output control commands to the wireless communication device, process the data signals entering from the communication channel through the wireless communication device, and supply the data signals to be transmitted to the communication channel through the wireless communication device;   a global positioning system receiver device that is configured to receive a signal and determine position information based on the received signal; and   a user interface for entering package data relating to packages to be delivered and for displaying information regarding delivery of packages;   wherein the wireless communication device transmits the package data over the communication center at a remote location and receives the information regarding delivery of packages over the communication channel from the communication center.   
     
     
         9 . The portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 8 , wherein the user interface comprises:
 a display that includes an input frame and an input pen for entering the package data through the display.   
     
     
         10 . The portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 8 , wherein the package data includes at least one of an address, a package collection route or a designated time. 
     
     
         11 . A portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 8 , wherein the communication center includes a storage member for storing the map information. 
     
     
         12 . A portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 11 , wherein the communication center includes a retrieval member capable of retrieving the map information from the storage member in response to a request from said wireless communication device received over the communication channel. 
     
     
         13 . The portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 12 , wherein the communication center includes a transmission member capable of transmitting the map information over the communication channel to the wireless communication device for processing by the map information reader device. 
     
     
         14 . The portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 13 , wherein the communication center includes an order process member capable of processing requests based on order information sent from the wireless communication device to the communication center over the communication channel. 
     
     
         15 . The portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 11 , wherein the wireless communication device includes an instruction input member capable of instructing the communication center to provide the target position information. 
     
     
         16 . The portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 15 , wherein the wireless communication device includes a communication member capable of transmitting the target position information to the communication center. 
     
     
         17 . The portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 16 , wherein the communication member is capable of transmitting identification information of the wireless communication device to the communication center. 
     
     
         18 . The portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 17 , wherein the communication center includes a memory member capable of storing route information created based on the target position information and the position information. 
     
     
         19 . The portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 18 , wherein the communication center includes a retrieval member capable of retrieving the route information. 
     
     
         20 . The portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 19 , wherein the communication center includes a transmission member capable of transmitting the route information to the wireless communication device. 
     
     
         21 . The portable wireless apparatus according to  claim 20 , wherein the information regarding delivery of the packages received by the wireless communication center includes map and route information for collection or delivery of packages, and wherein the user interface is capable of showing the route information. 
     
     
         22 . A portable wireless telephone apparatus comprising:
 a speaker;   a microphone;   a display;   a wireless communication device that is capable of wirelessly connecting to a communication channel and is capable of conducting transmission or reception of voice signals and data signals through the communication channel;   a control device that is capable of outputting control commands to the wireless communication device, is capable of receiving the data signals from the communication channel through the wireless communication device, is capable of supplying the data signals to be transmitted to the communication channel through the wireless communication device, and is capable of outputting control commands to the display;   a global positioning system receiver device that is capable of receiving a signal and calculating position information based on the signal;   a map information reader device that is capable of processing map information and the position information and capable of creating a map based on the combination of the position information and the map information;   a navigator device that is capable of navigating a user by use of the position information received by the global positioning system receiver device and the map information processed by the map information reader device;   a card holder portion positioned on the housing, the card holder portion including a cover provided on an external side face of the housing;   a card connector located inside the card holder portion and connected to the control device; and   a list display device that displays a list on the display during a call of the portable wireless telephone apparatus, and an input device to input a selection from the list.   
     
     
         23 . The portable wireless telephone apparatus of  claim 22 , wherein the selection is input via the display. 
     
     
         24 . A portable wireless telephone apparatus comprising:
 a wireless communication device that is capable of wirelessly transmitting and receiving voice telephone signals and digital data;   a microphone for generating voice telephone signals to be transmitted;   a speaker for generating audio signals based upon voice telephone signals received;   a global positioning system (GPS) receiver device that is capable of receiving GPS signals and calculating position information of the portable wireless telephone apparatus based on the received GPS signals; and   a digital control that is capable of, in response to a request received by the wireless communication device from a remote location, causing the wireless communication device to transmit current position information from the global positioning system receiver device to the remote location.   
     
     
         25 . The portable wireless telephone apparatus of  claim 24  wherein the digital control comprises:
 a reply setting device that is capable of setting whether to accept a transmission request for the current position information; and 
 a return information device that is capable of returning the current position information upon receipt of the transmission request when the transmission request is set to be accepted by the reply setting device. 
 
     
     
         26 . The portable wireless telephone apparatus according to  claim 25 , wherein the reply setting device includes a flag setting unit capable of setting an automatic replay call flag when the transmission request includes an automatic reply call, and capable of accepting the transmission request when the flag is set by the flag setting unit. 
     
     
         27 . The portable wireless telephone apparatus according to  claim 24 , further comprising:
 a transmission selector service that, when a destination is selected, causes the wireless communication device to conduct a transmission to the selected destination; and   a map information transmitter device that, during communication with the destination selected by the transmission selector device, is capable of reading map information relating to a map around position coordinates from previously determined map data based on the position information, and transmitting the map information through the a wireless communication device to the destination.   
     
     
         28 . The portable wireless telephone apparatus according to  claim 27 , further comprising:
 a display having a first portion for displaying a map based upon the position information and a second portion capable of showing reception status of the wireless communication device; and   a map information display device that is capable of reading map information relating to a map around position coordinates from previously registered map data based on the position information, and displaying the read map information on the first portion.   
     
     
         29 . The portable wireless telephone apparatus of  claim 24 , wherein the digital control includes a CPU. 
     
     
         30 . A portable wireless telephone apparatus comprising:
 a wireless communications device that is capable of wireless connection to a communication channel and capable of conducting transmission or reception through the communication channel;   a CPU that is capable of outputting control commands to the wireless communication device, enter data from the communication channel through the wireless communication device, or transmit data to the communication channel through the wireless communication device;   a global positioning system receiver device that is capable of receiving a signal and determining position information based on the signal;   a map information reader device that is capable of processing map information and the position information and capable of creating a map based on a combination of the position information and the map information;   a display device that is capable of displaying the map created by the map information reader device; and   a navigator device that is capable of navigating a user by use of the position information received by the global positioning system receiver device and the map information processed by the map information reader device.   
     
     
         31 . The portable wireless telephone apparatus according to  claim 30 , further including a cargo collecting schedule member capable, through the communication channel, of transmitting data to or receiving data from a remote location, wherein the data is at least one of an address, a delivery time, and a cargo collecting route. 
     
     
         32 . The portable wireless telephone apparatus according to  claim 30 , further including an order member capable, through the communication channel, of transmitting data to or receiving data from a remote location, wherein the data includes a company name and a purchase order form. 
     
     
         33 . The portable wireless telephone apparatus according to  claim 30 , further including a money transfer member capable, through the communication channel, of transmitting data to or receiving data from a remote location, wherein the data is at least one of a deposit request, a timed deposit request, and an on-line payment request.
