First-aid and emergency preparedness kit bag

Abstract

A kit may be a first-aid kit or an emergency preparedness kit. The kit includes contents that are selected for a specific application for which the kit is intended. The contents of the kit will vary based on the intended application. The kit includes a bag which is flexible and relatively small such that it can be conveniently stored in a variety of locations and, in particular, in locations associated with the particular activity for which the kit in intended. The kit can be self-standing to be easily displayed in an upright position or displayed from a hanger.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A kit comprising:
 a flexible bag; and,   a plurality of components in the bag, the components being selected from a group of components to make an application-specific kit, the group of components selected from the group consisting of first-aid items, germ spreading prevention items, emergency preparedness items, and basic survival items.   
     
     
         2 . The kit of  claim 1 , wherein said bag is fluid-tight. 
     
     
         3 . The kit of  claim 1 , wherein said bag includes a closable opening. 
     
     
         4 . The kit of  claim 3 , wherein said closable opening is resealable. 
     
     
         5 . The kit of  claim 1 , wherein said bag is pneumatically sealed. 
     
     
         6 . The kit of  claim 1 , wherein said bag is self-standing. 
     
     
         7 . The kit of  claim 1 , wherein said bag further includes a hanger opening for detachably securing said bag to a hanger. 
     
     
         8 . The kit of  claim 1 , wherein said plurality of components in the bag include items commonly used in a particular activity and the exterior of the bag includes surface indicia to indicate said particular activity. 
     
     
         9 . The kit of  claim 8 , wherein said particular activity is selected from the group consisting of handyman activities, outdoor activities, gardening, sports activities, pet care, childcare, kitchen-related activities, spill clean-up activities, automobile care and maintenance, home activities, and flu & germ protection. 
     
     
         10 . The kit of  claim 8 , wherein said sports activities include golf. 
     
     
         11 . The kit of  claim 8 , further including a retailer positioning said kit for sale in the area of a retail store where other products associated with said particular activity are also grouped for sale. 
     
     
         12 . A plurality of kits of  claim 8 , wherein said particular activity is different for each kit of said plurality of kits. 
     
     
         13 . The plurality of kits of  claim 11 , wherein said kits are bundled together and sold as an individual unit. 
     
     
         14 . The plurality of kits of  claim 8 , wherein said kits are bundled together and sold as a fund raising item.
